Me and some girls were discussing the issue of "starvation diets" and how these already 90 pound girls wanna kill themselves by starving but we also got to the point were say this guy needs to lose like 100 pounds , he is 100 pounds overweight and he needs to get down a little , will starvation diets be so horrible? im not talking about not eating at all im just saying very low calories . Isnt what happens on this diet that the body eats on the fat ? or is this diet also bad for the overweight?

With what you posted in your discussion apparently you understand the dangers in starvation dieting. Most people feel that if they diet or starve a little that they can loose weight and their problems with weight will be gone. Loosing weight by dieting is a life long commitment where as once you loose the weight you do not want to gain it back double, so for a person as you mentioned that needs to loose that amount of weight consulting a physicking first may be the best healthy solution.

I wouldn't suggest that. Even though it technically isn't starving, he would not be getting the proper nutritions. Plus once he starts eating regularly again he will gain the weight very fast.

I used to starved myself when I was trying to lose weight. I weighed 120 lbs with 30 inches waistline. I tried to discipline myself by taking liquid diet. From soup to juices and milk. I even skip meal if I can. I only at when I am hungry. I jogged a lot, I went to gym two times a day.I even scrubbed the floor just to reach my goal of losing weight. Until, I didn't realize that I lost a lot of weight that became my problem of being underweight. Some people said that I am "anorexic". When I weighed myslf, I found out that I am weighing 95 lbs already and guess what is my waistline?... It is 22 inches. Isn't that a problem, what do you think? But I therefore conclude that we are the director of ourself, we can be what we wanted to be. We can design our delf if we want it big or small. Likewise with our eating habbit.

I know a lot of people who wants to lose weight because they need to.., either they are overweight or just to lose weight to look better.., But regardless of which method they try in losing weight.., I will definitely agree with starvation.., It isn't good to our body..., and it will definitely outweigh the benefit of losing weight.., It can cause your bodily functions to deteriorate.., and eventually get sick..you wouldn't want that right?

Starvation diet can only harm in the long run than give benefits.I don't think its advisable for thin girls to diet so much.If a person is 100 pounds overweight he has to cut down on food especially fatty and junk food.Instead of stopping food he should have a controlled diet which is strictly adhered to.Such people should have a long term target like losing 5 pounds or so every month so that at the end of the year the results are there for everyone to see.It is better to consult a dietitian for people who carry excess weight.

Starvation, or super low calorie diets work to a point. They will help you lose weight, but after a while you will gain it back. Plus, when you do such a diet, your body goes into starvation/survival mode and you will lose muscle, meaning you will not look so great, plus your metabolism will be nonexistent. In the end the best way to lose weight or get fit is to use a combination of cutting down what you eat and excercising. How do I know all this? I struggled a lot with bulimia/anorexia in high school.

Starving yourselves is really really bad. Good thing you said that you are not talking about not eating at all. Our body needs to eat. It needs food to function properly. You can always eat while losing some weight. Just exercise regularly and make sure that the amount of calorie you consume is much much smaller than the amount you burn.

Just steamed food will do the magic. Do not take any kind of drinks except water. Just have plain milk without sugar. Brisk walking is a great way to lose weight. you will lose weight slowly but healthily. extra oils or sugar is not at all necessary. have fruits and vegetable soup or vegetable salad just before meals. you will eat less. have sound sleep during the night. to get that sound sleep, indulge in lot of physical activities during the day time, like walking, cleaning the house, garden, cycling or swimming.
