I believe that doing something is better than doing nothing. However the continued failed programs is getting ridiculous!
Nearly half of the 1.3 million homeowners who enrolled in the Obama administration's flagship mortgage-relief program have fallen out.
$75 billion government effort is failing to slow the tide of foreclosures in the United States, economists say.
Approximately 630,000 people who had tried to get their monthly mortgage payments lowered through the government program have been cut loose through July, according to the Treasury report. That's about 48 percent of the those who had enrolled since March 2009. And it is up from more than 40 percent through June.

Please note $75 BILLION into another program that is failing. Where do you think the money would have been better served. Or do you think this was worth it? What are your views?
Please also note that I have not given the text in full but in pieces.

The failed "mortgage-relief" program is a fraudulent as the usurper who, in collusion with banks and others at the top, instituted it.
I've personally been begging for relief for some time now, not only to no avail, but to the same kind of uncaring attitude and disdain that our "federal government" has consistently displayed toward us these past 20 months.
The bureaucartic gibberish and empty double-talk of this "program" is merely a ploy of the deceiver to make him look as if he is doing something right, which, of course he is not.
Their unforgiving "formula" for obtaining a modification is impossible to fulfill, even by jumping through hoops. If you don't have enough income, you cannot get a break or any relief, BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH INCOME. How's that for circuitous reasoning and bureaucratic double-talk? And how does that help those struggling under top-heavy and even illegal types of mortgages?
Many desperate people are callously turned away, more than are helped.
And, remember, this disaster was caused in the first place by the feds in person of Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and other corruptocrats, along with Obama's Acorn, and other thugs.
The only people given mortgage relief by the banks are Obama, Dodd, and other corruptocrats in high places. And that's because they ARE corrupt, and have lots of money and undeserved power.

Because I didn't have enough earnings. I don't fit their formula.
I told them I had been injured at work and lost my job, but that was not their concern.

it doesn't sound like it was worth it. it also sounds like the people who got homes just got themselves into a mess they couldn't afford no matter what. the best thing to is just to be sure to be able to afford anything from the beginning.

I think there are a lot of issues at play with this program...adjustable rate mortgages that rose dramatically and job loss. I would imagine that a percentage of those who dropped out were originally qualified but someone lost their job so they no longer had the income. Then there's the problem the article addressed of lenders accepting applications without requiring proof of income. I do agree that lenders play the "paperwork not received" game though.

You know, I'm against spending this type of money, solely because it's NOT money. It's debt that my grandchildren will be looking at.
But w/e. I eventually reconciled the spending by convincing myself that Americans in need would be helped.
But wtf? They're not being helped, and the money is still lying in red?
What's going on? The money being in limbo and folks playing politics while the country continues to deteriorate is just criminal.
Where is the money? Was the money spent and the program simply failed? Or was the money not spent correctly? And if it's the latter, where is the money!?
Does Woody Allen's choice for world dictator know? What about Massachusetts' favorite mush mouth - does he know? I'm sure Las Vegas' favorite closet racist knows! Or maybe California's czarina has an inkling.
I do not. And I shouldn't have to play detective in the little free time I have with 60-hour work weeks to find out where MY money is and why it's not working as planned.
