My parents subscribed this Dish network more than a year ago. First, we started with a contract for a full - year or so. Then the service quality is getting lower than we thought. We definitely have to make the payment on time, but sometimes we have difficulty acquiring the signal. Sometimes, even a whole day we can't watch any program. We call the customer services, they can't answer nothing or help nothing, but tell us to pay $70, so they will dispatch a technical personnel to look at it. No thanks, we are not that dumb to keep paying with such low quality service. I told my parents to cancel that service, and go for something like online netflix. We can always hook up the online program to the PLASMA TV. Probably they have to think about it.
For general public, competition is out there, if we don't get what they promise, and deliver, they don't deserve us as customers. Be ready to make switch whenever you can.

i too own a satellite television at my place, but the picture quality is awesome i just love watching television now. there are some other dth operators that do not provide good signals. i think you are one of them. i live in india though there are 5-6 options to choose the satellite operator. i have the best one that is tata sky. it's digital picture quality and best sound quality makes it the number one. one major problem in that is when it's raining the signal becomes weak and i am not able to see anything on my television. apart from that no problem what so ever. i think you should think of buying some other satellite television of some other company. that will surely solve your problem.
