I also amost missed a piece f the ground raised and would have tripped and fell on my teeth. So Tinking about this I think I better stop walking and texting as well.......Have a blessed day!

Hi Linda, Any distraction while driving can be life threatening to the drive and pedestrians alike. But, texting has got to be one of the worse offenses a driver can consciously do to harm another person while driving. You literally have to look down at the keys to find the letters, how can one possibly drive and safely text at the same time without put someone in danger? It simply cannot be done. If they have not had an accident, it surely is just a matter of time. I was drive back from running errands one day this week, and the traffic light turned red, so of course everyone stopped to wait for the green light. When the green light appeared we all starting moving our cars, that is, except the lady behind me. When I looked into my rear view mirror, she was at least three car lengths behind, just sitting there looking down at her phone, she finally looked up and began to drive. I often wonder how we, adults, have the nerve to try and tell our children what they should or should not do while driving. We are some of the worse law breakers out there on the roads.

Here where I lived they ban you to use Cell phone to be use when driving because it affects your driving and it's true. It better to be safe than taking a very risking situation. You will be fine not sure how much but lots f very hard head guys like chinese people doesn't really obey the rules. I saw a lot of them driving I wish there's a police roaming there just to make them safe driving.

Personally I do not drive either, but Texting and Driving actually ends up killing a lot of people, so it should somehow not even be a thought, or allowed. I know that when you are texting someone it is hard to try and concentrate on anything else and usually that is all you are thinking about. I often wonder what it will take for people to really Stop and think about while on the road concentrate on the road, and leave the Texting, talking on the phone without a blue tooth, and putting on makeup, etc. for another time as well.

There's a rule here that one isn't allowed to drive and use the mobile phone at the same time (not while walking, though...lol). But no one follows the rule and I've seen many people use the phone while driving. They stop only if they see a cop at a distance. It's definitely not safe and one can get distracted. I don't drive either and it's hard enough for me to walk and text ....and i've an expert at walking...been doing so all my life!! I wonder how people manage to text and drive when I would assume talking on the phone and driving is hard enough.

People should not text and drive. As a car accident victim, I strongly advice everyone not to text and drive. People don't have the right to take other's life in the road.

This is my mentality. When I get to where I need to go, I may call you back or text you. If I don't know you--forget about it. Situations do vary. Right now, this is my stand. Besides, I understand car insurance in certain states are high.

Of course. People shouldn't use their mobile phones unless they've stopped in a safe area, such as pulling over. I really dislike seeing car drivers being so reckless, this can apply to many things such as eating, talking and faces people in the back seats, drinking and smoking. There was a study that took place when I was at school which got heavily promoted that showed once you too a drag you was more likely to lose control of your car.

Of course it should not send SMS when people are driving. Because you can't focus on driving. It is easy to lead to an accident. It is dangerous for the driver and the innocent people. I love China

Its dangerous either to text or talk on mobile while walking or driving or when busy especially on road....even while cooking many of them carry it near the gas but it is dangerous...better to avoid to take mobile in the places where should not be taken and not to use it where it should not be used...

Hi linda, I couldn't agree with you more. People should learn to discipline themselves when it comes to texting. It's not bad to text but they should do that in a proper place and in the right time. It is for everyone's sake as well. We shouldn't wait for something bad to happen to us before we do something about it. Better be aware of what's happening around you :)

If you text and drive you have a 60% chance of dying in an accident. Hehehehe. But if you text while your car is in a stop, I think you'll be fine. I drive a lot and I text a lot too. But not at the same time.

I totally agree with you. Drivers should not text and drive. Texting while driving invites danger and distracts the driver. The driver's undivided attention on the road can lead to vehicular accidents and this will result to loss of lives, damage to property, physical injuries and of course it will cause traffic disturbances and delays. There are places which are now prohibiting drivers from texting while driving and I would say it is timely and proper to implement such rules. When the driver is not focused on the road, a lot of mishaps can happen and the best way to prevent such untoward incident from happening is to totally prohibit texting while driving. Drivers should exercise caution and safety measure while driving. This is also not only for their own protection but also for the safety of their passengers, the pedestrians, their co-drivers and all road users. Self restraint and discipline is a must when driving. Drive well, drive safely and you can save lives. We used to say don't drink and drive...now we should also advocate : Don't text and drive. Have good day and happy myLotting! :D

You take care and be careful. Yes, I do feel that nothing is more important than being little more careful and taking charge of our lives responsibly. I always tell my friends not tp text or talk while driving. Texting is even more dangerous - our sole concentration goes onto it. I think countries should impose heavy tax on being caught being drunken driving and texting while driving.

Having had that happen to You when out on your own walking in an area you're presumably familiar with and risking harm to no-one but yourself should bring home to you how dangerous it would be while trying to do something similar while trying to keep control of a ton or more of 4 wheeled blunt object at road speeds..not to be recommended..

Yes, I definitely agree people should not text and drive. They are operating machinery that can kill people if handled wrong. They need to keep their eyes and attention on the road. I've seen so many people texting while driving lately. They either go really slow or they swerve all over the place. I can't believe they don't notice how bad they're driving. Or, maybe they just don't care. But, I will never text and drive.

Yes i agree people should not text while driving and there is a lot of reasons why. One reason is while on the phone they are never paying attention and that is how all the accidents are being caused. I am glad they came up with this law now if you get caught texting while driving you get a ticket I don't know if they will learn from it or not. I don't think the fee is high enough if they raise the fee high enough maybe people will learn and quit texting while driving.

yes.. you should not text while walking, and you should not text while driving. First, here in our place, we don't allow to text on public places... there are lots of snatchers eying your cellphone and waiting for the right time to get it. Second, don't drive while texting because you might met a freak accident. You might bump into a tree. good if you overcome it, what if, it will take your life, does your cellphone save you?
