Wow, thats the only thing I can say. How does a team that loses 3-0 bounce back and beat a team as strong as Villa 6-0. I hope we are in for a few more shocks this season with the bottom teams not sinking like we have seen in the past. A close bottom and top race is what we need.

I agree ... it is good to see teams scoring goals in bunches ... there will likely be some classics reaching into double digits before the season is over? Eric

I don't feel anyone is going to hit the 2 digit mark in a game, Chelsea almost did at the end of last season and this season seems too hard to tell even though Chelsea have come out flying.

I'll go out on a limb and say that it will happen this season. If not in a BPL match, in a Cup game since the depth of the squads at the top are so rich in talent ;) Eric

I was very much happy to see Newcastle bounce back in style. What was even more heartening was to see that guy Shearer jump for joy in the stands!! I think Villa was simply not able to come to terms with the departure of Milner and Newcastle really pinched them real hard. But I think this might be a season of ups and downs for Newcastle, though the spirit that they showed today will hold them in good stead. I think they are going to stay up this season. Cheers! Ram

I agree, I feel they will stay up this season as well. One thing that troubles me is the lack of consistency, how does one lose 3-0 then thump Villa 6-0?

I am looking at Carrol with interest this season. If he has a good season then Newcastle will stay up. Also, England would have found itself a good center forward to replace Heskey. Cheers! Ram

Any team that saw their manager quit less than a week to the start of the season will have a hard time. And Aston Villa shows just that. I am still not convince about Newcastle, especially Andy Carroll. But they could prove me wrong and I am more than happy to eat my words then.

Only time will tell as I believe this season will have many surprises in store for us.

I agree but can't help think it might be more luck and not something we can look forward to more often.
