I just bought a new laptop,

and I'm trying to get everything transferred from the old one to the new computer. It is taking forever. I finally got all my music and most of my games on here. Have you had problems tranferring data to another computer?

Just a few, but with hard disk failures on 2 computers this past year. Takes about a day to reinstall and never gotr most files back, Now Ihave an external hard disk that I back all docs up to

hi bd yes it takes aome time but I have it easy when I have had to transferr stuff because of a change in Windows, as I let my son, 'the computer expert do it all for me. No sense in having a computer genius in the house if you do not use him, we had some bad luck once and lost some files so now have an external hard disc with back up files so am all set. Now when my son comes today he is going to have to get my email to work properly, I have not been able to get my new mail for four days no matter what I tried it is not coming through so he has a job on his hands.

I should get an external hard drive, too. Then, the next I get a computer, I won't have to spend so much time transferring everything.

I have never transferred things and would not even know how to start. I hope you get it finished soon.

what process did you do to transfer it? connect them together or you used a media like a usb storage device? how much files are you transferring?

I used a usb storage device. I had several hundred songs, some games, and a bunch of pictures on my old computer. I stiil haven't finished transferring everything yet. Plus, I had to redownload Itunes and some of my games.
