I am going to ITALY!

I live in America and one day I had an idea pop into my head. "I am going to learn Italian and go to Italy." This was just a random thought but I am the type of person that has to see a thought through. After about 5 months, I have saved up enough money, learned enough Italian, made some friends in Italy, and planned a great 12 day vacation. I will be visiting Rome, Florence, Naples, and Capri. While I learned more and more about Italy and its culture, I began to think..."what would it be like to LIVE in Italy?" Now, not only am I going to visit, but this will be a dry run as to whether I will find Italy a more suitable place for my lifestyle and the type of people I want to be around. I leave in exactly one month and for those of you who WISH that you could just visit Italy, but arent sure about costs, how to get there, want to know more about it, or just want a point in the right direction to save money...this is a great discussion place for you. I will be happy to answer and discuss anything if it will help you fulfill your dream to travel. After all, you only live once...why stay in one spot when you have a world to conquer!

I think it is wonderful to go to live in a different country and it is the best way to learn the local language. I studied French for five years at school but visiting France would have been an excellent way to learn it. A few years ago I visited Central America and there I heard Spanish. I liked it and went to Spanish evening classes when I got back home. I am very keen on traveling to different countries. I hope that you will visit Italy and enjoy learning Italian.

Wow! Italy is one of the places that I've always wanted to visit. I just hope you can share your experience there. I always love to travel but for now, I can't afford to go to Italy. So, I really hope that you'll be enjoying your tour there. It is good that you are trying to learn more about the place. It is also good that you try to learn the language even if you'll just try to master the so-called "survival phrases". ;-) Also, try to visit the wikitravel website and learn more about the safety of the places that you'll try to visit. When I went to a country to travel alone, I made a thorough research as to the safety of the place just to be sure that I won't be a victim of any crime. So, it is good if you'll learn a lot about the country first before going there. We will wait for you to share your experience soon :D
