we all send silent prayers throughout the day. if we are in our car 'please god let the lights stay at green' please god let that slow driver in front pull off'' please please give me the strength to put up with my noisy kids in the back' etc.do you think these prayers are as valid as when we are in 'proper prayer mode'in church/holy place of your religion or at home?

Every prayer is heard when it's acceptable to GOD...But he is more concern to the cry of your heart than whatever your mouth alter... GOD search us deep into our hearts and He wants us to be sincere... Just do't stop praying.. GOD say in his word " PRAY WITHOUT CEASING "

I would think so. I mean, to put it in simple terms, if you were a parent would you not want to hear from your kids as much as possible? No matter its significance. I don't think it should replace 'proper prayer' (altho that in itself is a topic of debate), but it has its place in a Gospel-centred life.

Are we validating prayers now??? God hears it all. Even something as simple as a thought counts. God is a big believer in freedom. Pray any way your heart desires.

Hard to decide which prayers are valid. Important is that man perceives the presence of God and establishes a dialogue with him. For this dialogue and communion with God there are no formalities. But man belongs to a community. He at times needs to be united to his community too. Hear comes the question of formalities. But what is essential is that man perceives the presence of God and enters in communion with Him

Silent prayers are still prayers, so I believe it counts. I think they would be the best prayers because they were the truth of our needs at the time, not some dictated prayers like in the books.

I just don't know if these are really to be considered prayers or not. I am not the most religious person in the world, but I think these are more wishes than prayers. Just little sayings we say to motivate us to get through the day. To calm down and not stress too much.

Hi All God wants is for us to be able to talk to him about anything and everything. It doesn't matter when or where you pray (which is really great for me as I can't get to church at the moment). For me there is no "proper" prayer mode it is what is in your heart that counts and that is what God will be interested in. In my journey as a Christian I have been in circumstances were a silent prayer was all I could offer (can't pray out loud when you are in lectures). God listened to them and allowed me to unburden myself to him. This then meant I was able to move forward again.
