Hello Lotters,
Do you remember what happened to the Soldiers who had stage the Oakwood mutiny? a lot of important people in the government and other organizations said that they were smart, and honorable. but Duh, if they were so smart, how could they start a mutiny and then surrender later. i know the military has it's concern, but it doesn't to extravagant, as if they can take down the administration. yah, people there were so smart, to be so stupid
they could have told the media right away about the corruption...
The same goes with this situation. the cop had many medals, praise, and had a good service record. but that doesn't give you the right to be above the LAW. like in 2008, he got busted along with four other cops.
But before that, there was also a Hero Cop in the Philippines that got busted for Drug Use. he can't even show his face, now he's in Jail.
Not really criticizing our service men, but when you get praised, with medals and honorary this and that, must be consistent.otherwise, medals, etc.. aren't worth it if you made on Big mistake.

Yup people commit mistakes so we can't blame ourselves we are just but human beings. Anyone from any part of society commit mistakes so I think they are just but natural.
But observing our society, The higher your position gets the higher people will find ways to detect your mistakes. Same is true with medals and honors the more commendation one individual get more expectations will come out. And people will never expect you to commit mistakes.

hello diogzz,
but this isn't exception to the cops. they should expect to be consistent to their duties and no one slacks off. this time, it really messes up, i can't believe i am seeing this on the news. my mom got so freak out that she mute the television. i opened it up because i am too far away from the television. my condolences on the foreigners families.

Yup you're definitely right no exceptions for the cops there are also other professions that mistakes cannot be tolerated especially in the medical professions that one wrong move will eventually be someones doom.
This a bad publicity for our growing tourism industry. We will be definitely be in the black spot for the tourist world wide. I heard the foreigners were Koreans there will be lot of English teachers who might loose their clientele.

hi letran to me if a man is a police officer he is expected to uphold the law and protect and serve the public so when he make mistakes they are whoppers and you are right he is not exempt from these mistakes at
all. Medals mean nothing if the recipent turns around and flouts
all the laws he was supposed to uphold.

he lost right there. he can't and never get what he wants when he took over the bus. anything won't favor to him. i believe if they pretended that they have done what he asked them to do, probably he will be able to surrender.

I don't know what to say.... Sometimes you get highly decorated because you have a big pull up in the ranks. Sometimes it really is due to good work and honesty. Sometimes good people make stupid mistakes when they are given a stupid advice from people who they trust the most. Sometimes when you are so emotional about something your judgement gets tainted with your emotions rather than rational thinking. There are so many angles to a story....
