According to an article I read on Yahoo!, the Beijing-Tibet expressway has been blocked down into a crawl for nine days. Can You believe it? NINE DAYS?!?!? This traffic jam has stirred a mini-economy jump for a few entrepreneurs who sold water and food to the stuck drivers. Can you imagine? I cannot wrap my head around the idea of just creeping down the expressway that slow in that kind of congestion. You can read the details using the link below. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20100823/sc_afp/chinaroadtraffic

I can't imagine being stuck in a traffic jam for nine days. Well I think nine hours in a blocked road would be miserable. I went into my home town and a van was in front of me. It wouldn't move so I reversed to get back then took a left turn. I went into a one way road and it was lucky that I went the correct way. I think that if I was in that situation of a nine day traffic jam I would do my best to crawl all the way to a slip road where I would leave. Then I would park somewhere suitable and get a guest house. If I was near home I would use a map to go back home along minor roads. I imagine much water and food was sold to the annoyed drivers.

This is really unbelievable, but China is a special country. When you think that 4 or 5 decades ago Chinese were known with their uniform grey clothes etc. And then we saw the olympic wonders... Yes, we have a lot to learn.

I think I would have pulled to the side of the road if I could, away from traffic, and where my car would be safe. I'd write a note saying that the tow truck as my tag number and that I am not abandoning the car for good, and then I'd walk to the nearest exit and have someone pick me up by using the BACK ROADS. I couldn't stay in the car for nine days straight, not without feeling restless and sick.
