Tourists from Honk Kong were killed in their bus where they were hostages of a heavy armed man. The drama lasted many hours and some of the hostages were released. The man turned to be a former policeman who had been fired and wanted his job back. Finaly the philippine police stormed the bus and this was broadcasted live on world televisions. This clumsy operation took them more than one hour and ended with a blood bath, people crawling from the bus and 8 victims! One example of a very bad job which took lives! http:/bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-11055015

This is a real disaster. Today my colleagues are talking about this issue. We think the rescue is totally a failure. We don't understand what's wrong with the rescue team. At the beginning the hijack person still had a peaceful attitude, and actually his requirement was not that much. What's wrong with the negotiation? This person was not asking for millions of dollars. He just wanted to be back to work. And at the end the situation was out of control. The negotiation and the rescue are fatal failing. As to the hostage taker, now I wonder whether he is innocent. He did this because he had unfair judgment. He used the mistake to correct another mistake. At first his purpose was not to kill the innocent people. If he wanted, he could have killed more. In brief, this situation could solve better. I just don't understand why it will have an ending like this.

I saw this live on TV. They were not prepared to deal wiht this kind of operations. BBC gives the opinion of an expert who says everything: www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-110696-16 I feel very sad for the victims.

i'm so angry and disappointed with what happened..i've watched videos online of what really transpire before and after the hostage-taking..but i can't only blame Rolando Mendoza guy for ending up doing what he did..i believe he became too depress when he lost the job he loved the most after almost 3 decades of service..so he uses desperate measures just to get back what he'd lost..sometimes depression hinders us from thinking straight..but what can we do..life is sometimes cruel and only acceptance will hinder us from doing such things..
