what happened last night at Quirino Grandstand was a very sad news. it caught the attention of media and human rights advocators all around the globe. it breaks my heart, what i see in television is really heartbreaking. it is the most talked horrible story wherever i go, here in the office, at the bus, everywhere. even here on the internet, what happened is a headline. it is a shame to us Filipno's, though it's an isolated case. what really happened in there? why it turned out to be that way? 8 Chinese were killed in a bus hostage taking by a Police Captain who was terminated from his work because of administrative case filed against him. out of his rage, he hostage the tourist bus and the more than 10 hours drama turned into a bloody one. and he was killed by the SWAT team who has no other choice but to do it. what will happen to our economy now? to the tourist spots here in our country. please, let us all pray for our country..may GOD save the Philippines in the midst of this trial.

For me, I don't know how to handle this kind of situation. But what I say is negotiators who took part in that incident should have focused more on the safety of the hostages. And for the small movement of the bus here comes the hell of fire coming from the police rank. Who knows, perhaps the hostage taker did not fire on anybody inside the bus but was killed by the bullets coming from the authorities? A lesson to be learned and hope for a better handling in the future on this kind of a situation.

I personally think nobody wanted an incident like that to happen especially so that the victims are foreign nationals. It will definitely have a big impact on our relation to foreign countries. But again, nobody would want that to happen. Just that the police should have handled the situation in a more intelligent way that what had transpired. Obviously, the men in uniform showed that they need to be trained more to be competent enough to handle situations like these. Hostage rescue operations are said to be successful if all the hostages are recovered safely and alive.
