We cannot blame them for branding the policemen who handled the hostage situation as INCOMPETENT. However, I think it would be unfair to describe the Filipino people as such because a greater number of us, Filipinos, are intelligent and diligent. We are capable of doing a lot of good things. It's sad that we all have to bear the stigma. I think what we must do now is pray for our nation and never miss any opportunity to do good and be excellent in everything we do. That way, we will soon erase this painful stigma and put everything behind us. Yes, my heart goes out to the OFWs who will unfairly endure the embarrassment and who will bear the brunt of the worldwide criticism against us. May this incident behoove all of us to be the best Filipinos that we can be. Again, let us pray for our country!

My heart bleeds for the victims of the hostage-taker and their families. Let us pray for all of them. As ordinary citizens, that is the best we can do for them now.

Even before the hostage incident in Manila, there is already a racial discrimination in Hongkong not only for the Filipino Domestic Helper there but also to those Filipino tourist visiting Hongkong. But this hostage taking in Manila will suppresses this discrimination more. If the Hongkong government is issuing a travel advisory to avoid traveling to the Philippines, the Philippine government should also warn Filipinos to travel to Hongkong.

yeah you have your point there. There are violence happened to some OFW in the past. Maybe it's time to make travel advisory to HK too, to avoid revenge. :)

You dont know that. We should never assume that the people in HK are too irrational to think about what is right and what is wrong.

This is a shameful event for our country..a very bad publicity for tourist and investors too.., I cannot blame just the policemen but the media too.., everyone has a share of blames.., and I pity those OFW who are in Hong Kong.., They are the one who are directly suffering.., Their employers are now discriminating them for sure..=(
