Babies usually sleep at least 16hrs. Children usually sleep 10 to 11 hrs a day. When they become teenage, a 9 hours sleep is usually enough. Then adults is 8 hrs. Experts says that those who sleep less than 7 hrs a night, don't do well on complex metal tasks and have higher mortality rate. But they say you must aim at 7 to 8 hrs of sleep. It is also important to get a quality sleep, because even if you sleep 8 hrs but got frequent interruptions it is still not good. I usually thought that 6 hrs of sleep is enough. Sometimes I got so busy that I forgot that it is already very late at night. Reading what I found made me think twice. I have to consider sleeping more. Do you agree with me? :)

I read something like in a newspaper, and it has sense, if you sleep too much when you wake up you feel your body heavier and tired. I usually sleep between 6 and 7 hours on week days, but in the weekend i sleep like 9 hour.

Yes, I totally agree with your statement on sleep. I think there have been a ton of studies done that prove your mental state is not so aware if you haven't gotten enough sleep in the day. I usually get around 7 hours of sleep everyday. I have tried to get like 8 hours but just can't do it. Plus with less sleep you aren't as alert and will just wind up feeling sleepy during the daytime.

I guess, for adult or middle aged people, 6-7 hours will do enough. What important is what some says which I believe would be logical, that atleast you got it from mostly between 10pm-5am. Sleep between those hour is how our mind could really have rest. But people have differences, jobs, lifestyles, and other important things to keep them busy. So perhaps, no matter @ what time it should be done, but 6-7 would definitely and ideal one.

I agree to the importance of a "quality sleep". It does not matter how many hours you slept. Uninterrupted sleep is the best for all ages . But it's hard to sleep straight if you have many problems. Especially if you are in a financial disaster.

I have learned something new by this article. I get 8 or 9 hours. I'm glad I get that much sleep. It will help me in the long run. As far as 6 hours, some people just need less ress than others. Whatever your comfortable with is good. As long as you can function through out the day. Then it shouldn't really matter.
