I'm sure the whole world have seen and heard about what happened to my country (Philippines) last aug.23,2010. Tourists from hongkong and 3 filipinos were hostages by dismissed policeman Rolado mendoza, after 11hrs of hostage taking some of the victims were dead including hostage-taker. We filipinos are very sorry for what happened, I apologize not just to the victims but to all people of hongkong...I give my deepest sympathy to the families of the victims I know its very painful to lose someone you love. No one want this to happen. I can't blame hongkong government puts travel ban to the philippines as if my country is the worst and dangerous place to go. Please don't judge us, we filipinos are not all hostage-taker, we are kind and loving people...and I'm Proud to be a Filipino.

We are indeed really sorry for what happened last aug. 23. We never wish for that to happened and I do hope and really pray that they won't judge all of us Filipinos in general to be heartless, stupid monkeys as what i have heard other countries are saying. We are loving, caring citizens and also has a heart. Our deepest sympathy to all the families who has lost their loved ones to that very tragic incident. Our government may have faults in how they have handled the situation, but we are never perfect and we are greatly sorry for what this has caused. I pray that that incident will never happen again and that the trust to the Philippines of all other foreign countries will be back.

You know luz.... it's kind of terrifying to think that we are living in this kind of place... i'm a filipino too... i live in a province but my sister is studying in manila... it kind of worries us a lot when there are news like what had happened last 23. few days ago, here in our province a little 5 year old was raped and killed... few months ago in a neighboring city, 3 adult females were killed during a robbery.... in my family history, we've been robbed 5 times, though we only own a small sari-sari store.... we were threatened to be killed if we did not give every demand they make... our oppressors were also filipinos... what you said was true... not all filipinos are hostage-takers, not all filipinos are robbers or killers or rapists... because most filipinos are the victims... and because of what had happened last 23, we all are now considered the criminals... though it hurts to be discriminated, the pain of losing a loved one, hurts even more... that's why the anger that HK citizens direct towards all filipinos are understandable... the pain they feel about losing their family is incomprehensible... everyone would feel the same way, be it american, filipinos or chinese people... whoever...
