I am still trying to figure this one out. If age is to represent wisdom, then why is age not represented by maturity? Why do people pretend to be of a more mature status, when they really do know maturity is?

Age is not the only factor that has something to do with maturity.., One can be matured at an early age with the right experience that will hone them better than the others who have not shared that same experience yet.. Like for instant.., those street children who works on the streets selling any sort of things matures more earlier in terms of making decisions than the kids who goes to school..

Maturity comes along with experiences. A teenager may be found more mature than a full grown adult. Most of the times people become mature when they are honed with hard ordeals in life. Maturity is not something one can earn from school, it is something that one develops as he deal with real life, and through those experiences one can learn how to deal with certain situation and that makes his level of maturity to flourish and ascend.

Age doesn't correlate to maturity, life experiences does increase one's maturity. We all mature in different paces and it is all depends on how we strive for it based on our preferences, background and influences.
