friendship vs. romantic relationship

When friendship turns to a romantic relationship, there's a risk of losing the friendship and love altogether when an argument or a breakup happens. So would you take that risk with someone you have known for a very long time? Would you risk to lose it all, and lose that person if somehow, the romance doesn't work out??

Nope. I can't risk it. Things just plays out the same way every single time. I've dated friends before and it always did not play well. After a break up, this just goes really weird and awkward. After a while, the awkwardness does go away but sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes its not worth losing a friend over..

my experience with dating friends (and then breaking up) hasn't been that good either. most of the time, after the breakup, there'll be some space and distance and the friendship almost never returns to normal...

as the saying goes its better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. loving a person involves taking risk. when you love a person there's that possibility of losing your friend in the process and end up getting hurt. but if your both mature you can still end up as friends even if the relationship doesn't work.

Thanks.... I understand about the risk taking part.... but I'm not sure if the possible romantic relationship is worth risking the beautiful friendship for.... I can't tell yet, I think I'll just have to wait

that's perfect then... not many people are lovers and bestfriends at the same time u know. so it's good that you have that kind of relationship with your partner.
