Will you make sure to take the winding path to the right?

Sometimes the harder thing and the right thing are the same things. Some tend to follow the less hard path for reasons obvious. I am not a stern righteous person like my sister but I would rather follow the harder path. So what it's the harder path - it gets us to bed, peaceful and guilt free. What do you think?

Hi Mimipi! It all depends upon individual to individual how s/he wants to live his/her life, by choosing a harder path or a softer path. No two persons could be alike, not even sibling, you cannot be as your sister is. I agree with you that if anything gives us peace of mind and we feel guilt free, we should take that path, without any fear and apprehensions. I try to be myself and do not indulge in those things, which are beyond me. Deepak

Not much for me to think about it and may it more better for me sometimes just make use the life bridge that has been built by others instead of constructing a new bridge of mine.

Hi Michael, How are you doing? Sorry to have poked you with this philosophy! something happened today and I had to let go. Mylot is the best solace, isn't it! Sometimes, it's wiser to walk on the bridge made by others and sometimes its better to build others.

Mimpi, from my experience, I have learned this-Do the right thing and follow the right path. Do not let the complexity decide it. It may be hard at times and it may seem to be so at times. But somewhere down the line we realise that it was needed and had to be done. Taking the easier way out rather than distinguishing between right and wrong first, has actually complicated or made things hard in the long run. There will be times when identifying what is right poses a dilema. What's right to me, may not be right for someone else. Then there are also the times the conscience questions either of our choices. In such times i have learnt -take the path what i determine to be right and follow it no matter how hard it is.

Yes, here we call it the path less followed and that is the one I always take. The reward for that does not always come right away, but I think it always comes.

Mythman, you are sure right about that! Your comment reminds me of a book called "A Whack on the Side of the Head." RFLOL.

hi mimipi oh yes the road less used and oh what a difference 'it can make as we stay righteous and calm and go to bed at night all peaceful and happy. We stay away from evilness and treachery and feel always at peace as we are following the right road. That way I can look in the mirror at night before I go to sleep and not frown to see my own face.I know I have done right.

Yes, nothing like a sweet sleep at the end of the day and ensure that we need to do right things. Life is good sometimes its just little tough. I love it anyway though.

The right path doesn't have to be the harder path..........it's always different. I always try to do the right thing and act accordingly. It's a matter of a decision making process we make ourselves. I think we should all stop and think before we make moves and make sure the right path has the best end of its journey.

Quita, that's what my mom tells me always. we should give a moment to ourself and think about the worthiness of an action. The right path has light at the end of the tunnel.

I don't know why we as humans always just jump in without thinking about what we are doing or what we might do. I say your mom is right ! Look for the light as the end of the tunnel and follow it.. there is nothing wrong with stopping and thinking twice or three times to save ourselves from harm in the long run.

Hi MIMPI ! Once you told me I am like your sister in one of our discussions here [ I forget what it is].Following the dictates of one's conscience is the best path to a peaceful bed. But, there are circumstances in life when we have conflicting interests [in interpersonal relationships] and at such points of time this sleep gets jeopardized becasue we may become victims of our surroundings and our conscience may be wailing at one corner of the mind.

Hey you are like my sister in many ways and your response, which doesn't surprise me, reassures what I said. You are right, life is not just about the right and the wrong but in today's scenario mostly of the grays that overwhelm us from time to time. Even with the best of intentions we are gullible to the shorter path. Existence becomes easier but our conscience kills us. Who doesn't want the right thing in life! It's just a matter of how we get it and how many hearts we break to be there.

Absolutely. I think I'm pretty clear about this topic, to start with; things have always seemed black and white to me (and I choose white of course) - probably because I don't think too much about the repercussions or try to foresee the bigger picture, and narrow down my focus onto the precise issue I'm having to deal with. In hindsight, I may have felt many a time that I should have done it differently, but then that's but natural when things don't turn out as you'd expect them to. To my merit, I have always preferred a clear conscience, guilt-free mind, regret-free heart to everything that may have come my way at their expense. So, whether I succeed or fail, whether people appreciate my decisions or criticize them, whether results favor me or ditch me, I can still continuously revel in the fact that I've always made the move that occurred to me as right and righteous at the time of action. So in answer to your question, yes, if I find the winding path to be leading me right.

Hiya Mimpi! "it gets us to bed, peaceful and guilt free." ~ this is really the bottom line for me. I dont mind if it's the hard way or the easier way as long as I would be able to go to bed with a peace of mind. There are just those situations wherein, there's the long and hard way, but there is also the shorter(not a shortcut) way that would get us to our goal, easier or faster. But it does not involve hurting other people or crossing anyone just to get there. They may be rare but they do happen. I wouldnt miss the chance to take the shorter way but if there's no other way but the hard way, then Id gladly toil over it, just to get to my goal peacefully. Hope that made sense somehow.LOL^_^

I am an expert at learning my lessons in the hardest possible way! Taking the harder road can certainly be more rewarding in the long run. I don’t know if the right way to go is always the most difficult one! Sometimes when things are meant to be they come along easily; it depends because at other times it can be part of our life lessons to have to work hard in order to achieve.

Well, I've always heard that the best things in life aren't free. This means that we will have to work hard in order to move forward in our lives. I guess what I am trying to say is that I will always think about the different options that are available and I will make the decision that does the most good for the most people. And, sometimes this does mean that the decision that I make isn't necessarily the thing that will do the most good for me.

It is said that there is a wide and narrow path and most of the people is following the wide path for we all think that life living in that path is easy without considering the fact that behind it is suffering. Obviously, we can see many people trying to find happiness in an easy manner.Let's say for example: youths trying to seek answers for their questions,WHY AM I HERE ON EARTH?,HOW CAN I FIND TRUE HAPPINESS?, youth suffering problems; the very easy idea that comes in the mind is do unnecessary things like drinking hard drinks with friends and its so easy to do such if and only if a certain person lacks love of a family, attention ,he really wouldn't be convicted to think what's right from wrong..wide road is dangerous though it seems that there we can seek happiness but the question is what's there behind?...sometimes its more better to live in a life full of difficulties for after which is a hope/ rainbow shows... life with challenges is full of lessons, a guts to become a better individual.
