Why does college have to be so stressful?

I was taking college courses before I got depressed and then I stopped taking them for a while. I plan on going back in January. The only big change is that I am changing my major. I am going to check into other schools and see how much they cost per class because the school I am going to is expensive. I am also looking up other majors. Whew I have a lot to look up. Work: All the hard work that goes into the college courses. The papers that you have to write, all the courses that you have to take, keeping your grades up. College is a lot more work than high school and surprised me how much work it can be. Depending on how many classes you take it is A LOT of work. The school that I was going to counted how many courses I took as a part time student but I considered myself a full time student. I was a full time student once and around the holidays my family saw a big difference. I remember them telling me that I looked tired, having no time to myself, trying to keep up with everything. I felt like all I did was read and study, take test and exams, and write papers. I remember reading one chapter would take me hours and I would have to read 2-3 chapters a week. Money: Paying back the loans is stressful enough. Just thinking about how much money it costs is enough to give you a headache. Worrying about paying it back when you are done with your schooling. People used to say to me well you will make this much once your done, acting like it was nothing to pay all that money off. I understand their point of view and I tried to be positive and look at it that way. Worrying about if you are going to have trouble paying it off. It's not like you can just not pay it off. If you don't qualify for loans then you have to struggle to pay off the tuition and book costs. Books Books are expensive and if you want to save money then you need to search around for cheaper books. Ebay and other websites. Trying to sell those books are even harder. You need to find the right time to sell the books and that is not a definite that the books will sell. I still have books in my drawers that I am having trouble selling and they are just taking up space. I need to try and sell them again at the right time: when the courses are about to start up again. Decisions You have lots of decisions to make such as which school you are going to go to. Whether or not you are going to take courses online or go to the campus or both. A big decision What your major and degree is going to be? I know that a lot of people change their majors and I am changing mine. This is a very big decision that can be stressful. You don't want to end up paying a bunch of money and time on a degree that you are not going to like and enjoy having. You don't want to spend the money and time on a degree and then later on in life hate your career or job. I'm in no way saying that getting a college degree is not worth it. I am 100 percent for getting a college degree but why does it have to be so stressful? Even if you end up not using the degree at first but later on in life, or just as a back up plan. It's hard enough getting a job these days and not everyone likes retail.
