Recently, during the afternoon around 3:00 P.M. I received some weird phone calls about I just won a big prize either from Apple iPad, or Sony Led TV. I need to click 1 to claim my prize immediately, something like that. Not to waste my time, I simply hang up. I just wonder if my cell phone service provider would charge me long distance or not, since the call has different area code than my city. I just hate those scam calls, and it never stop. Have that occurred to you?

I've heard about some scam that sounds like what you've described. If it's just a telemarketer, then I don't think you'll be charged long distance, since you answer the call not made it. You're only charged long distance fees if you make the call. But I'd check with your carrier or check into your bill if you can. I usually ignore phone calls from weird numbers. I figured if it's somebody I know & important enough, they'd leave a message.

yeah,i have been bothered by this kind of problem for quite a long time. They always like to call me at any time even when its deep at night. and sometimes the phone call will last for just a few seconds and hang up automatically when i am ready to receive the call. And usually these calls are from the different area code than my city. i hate those scam calls and hope someone will be responsible for these calls.
