I read manga and watch anime. When I hear that the manga I'm reading will be adapted and will be made into an anime, I feel excited. But when I began to watch the anime, I feel happy but at the same time feel strange about the adaptation. It makes me feel a little unsatisfied. It's just I felt more intense in the manga than the anime. How about you? Which one do you prefer, MANGA or ANIME?

Hello, bemtotz! I personally don't read that much manga, but from what I've noticed, it's the same thing that happens when you turn a book into a movie. The book will be better in most of the cases, because it shows a lot more details about the characters and their personalities, inner-life, etc, than a movie ever can. Still, there are a lot of anime I've watched before reading the manga and I realized something : animes made after a manga either use the highlights of the story , or develop new ones, kind of like spin-offs or fillers. Same characters, different adventures. And that can also be a cool thing. But what do you think about mangas that are turned into live action, not anime? Do you think they ruin the story by making the dramas? Or do they turn it into an unforgettable experience? For example, Hana Kimi is a great manga that only has several dramas, but no anime. Do you think that the anime can beat the dramas or the manga? :) Happy posting!

Yeah, I know what you mean with the DN movie. I was so excited when they made it and so dissapointed after I saw it. I thought the entire cast did a horrible job! None of them was actually in character. Well..maybe except for Ryuk , lol :) Which I still find extremely amusing. L was pretty much ok though I would've pictured him a bit different. From what I've noticed, they pretty much avoided using well known actors from the young generation and settled for some that are not very popular. Still wondering why actually. And yes, you're right, each category has its own charm and they are all worth our time :) Happy posting!

I prefer anime rather than manga. First, because anime has colors. Second, the voice of the characters give more life to it. What is bad about anime is that, sometimes, it has too many fillers which deviates the story from the original.

I enjoy both but recently, I prefer reading manga. Anime is good as there's moving pictures and voices. However, certain anime like Bleach and Naruto have lots of fillers and it's a pain to watch. Most of the time, manga anime. However, I prefer the anime version of Gintama to the manga. Both are great but the interactions between the voice actors in Gintama made Gintama such a joy to watch.

Well i started with anime and then switched to manga when the stories some particular anime is not complete or is moving too slow and i can't wait to know whats gonna happen after that :) .... so for me anime will always be the better media ...

It really depends on how they do it. Sometimes the anime never does the manga justice because of all the things they tend to change. I like manga because I can take my time reading everything and also because if the manga and anime are ongoing at the same time then the manga of course is always ahead. But for things like action manga's like one piece, bleach, and naruto (which i read) I like reading the manga for the advanced storyline and I like the anime for the better action sequences. Because in those, they pretty much stay true to the storyline and they don't leave much out, they actually put more in.

I'd prefer manga...it's the basis for most animes but regardless of that...I've always been a manga reader, you'll know the story in you own pace, read your favorite lines over and over, a little of your imagination works, and no need to work on the fast forward or rewind button on your remote.

for me, manga is better because you just read and read and read not knowing that you are already at the last chapter...

I prefer watching anime than reading manga. Its because appreciated the actions more in anime and most us do get fascinated by these new techniques when used by these anime heroes. I only read manga when the anime had already been finished but in manga, the story still continues. The first manga that I read was Midori no Hibi. I did watched the anime first before reading its manga. Its because I have read a trivia that in anime Midori (the heroine) did return to her body more than once in manga but in anime it only happened once. Just that one trivia made me curios what really happened to the story and how did those things happen. So I guess my curiosity did only pushed me read its manga version. But since Midori no Hibi is love story. I did enjoyed the manga better because I'm interested to the story and no much action is involved. It seems that the anime version have just been summarized. It was cut from 88 days of manga to 13 days in anime. For action type anime like HunterX and Eyeshield21, I will still prefer watching anime but I have no choice since the continuation was only available in manga.
