jet lag, under or oversleeping

these days my bf and i are travelling in different places in the Philippines, however it seems like he is still really tired and says either he undersleeps or oversleeps. he always says that it was due to his jet lag. hmmmm..i havent experienced such so i couldnt relate. i wonder how long jet lag's remain. like, would it take about a week or so? i worry about his sleeping esp that he cannot sleep when lying on his back. =(
