it said that the 4% of Worlds total Fuel is been burnt on signals. So do u usually turn OFF your bike, when you stop on Signal ? What are your experience's, how much people's around you do so(Turn OFF the bike/Car) ?

I would imagine that turning off then on again it would burn even more fuel, so I would think it would not be such a great idea. Not only that but would it really be worth the effort, especially when the vehicle behind you begins to honk the living daylights for a person to move.

No this is not ri8. for example, if you are waiting on signal which is not gonna to be green for long time, then you should not need to keep it ON. instead of saving fuel it will burn even double the saving. i don't think so that it will burn even more if i turn OFF and start it again. i would not because bikes are button started, this technique does not need fuel, but takes very small amount of current from your battery. That's it

This is a good topic actually, here in my city, sometimes, you will have to wait for 5-7 minutes at the signal, so in those cases most of the people used to turn off their vehicle. As the price of petrol is increasing, if I see the red light at the signal, I used to switch off my bike 30 meters before and wait at the signal to start the bike once the light turns green. This way, I do save some money and feel good about it. Here in my city mostly people on bikes used to do the same thing. However, this changes in case of third party vehicles and personal cars. Generally, cab drivers will not turn off their car at the signal because they think that they will not have to pay for the petrol. In case of personal cars, when I go out with my friends, we do not turn off the car at the signal to make sure that the AC does not turn off. Oil consumption and the price is less significant thing when you are in a car that costs more than 6 lakh.

i never turned off my bike when the signal burns. i thinks the fuel usage is similar on position or off position. ie, if we start it use some more fuel. few of them were turned off there bikes.

hmm, that's cool, I wasn't think about that. But you may turn off your bike, though it is not gonna to matter for fuel saving because the air pollution can be less. Apart from this i always turn off my bike, because its help me to save some fuel and of course money too. i think the fuel burnt while turning on the bike is less than that of burnt by keeping bike ON for whole time of RED signal. In my city i see lots of people turning their bike OFF on red signal, that's why my city is less polluted. and also had been rewarded once in last year. you guys keep it up what you wish, i m not gonna to interrupt you and i can't

Yes I turn off the ignition on a traffic light, but I have decided certain criteria like when the timer is less then 15 seconds then I don't switch off the ignition for time more than this I turn off the engine.
