I just noticed to some whenever they are watching a love story, they are somehow carried away with the theme that being shown in the movie. Hence, they also feel in-love whenever they are watching. How about you, do you also feel in-love whenever you watch a love storey? Are you carried away to theme/storey that you are watching?

That is why movies are considered as a brain washing mechanism because it can hypnotize you from start to finish. You'll be so engross in it because all of your senses are attentive and alert. It will react to whatever you are viewing. When you watch romance, you will feel romantic. When you watch horror or suspense, then you'll be at the edge of your seats. Movies are our short escape from reality.

You have a point on that atv818. Your answer is very well said and I like the term that you have used "engross".

I have been carried away several times from movies that I watch. Love stories in particular. I think maybe because most of us can relate to it or we can easily compare it to our own experiences. Sometimes I even cry when the actor/actress get hurt in the movie. Yeah it sounds so silly for me to get carried away to that extent but I just can't help myself. The actor/actress really conveyed the scene well to the extent that I got my emotions running high as well. But even so, I really love watching love stories no matter how it makes me cry a bit. :) Have a nice day. Best of luck

You are a very good viewer since you able to relate to the story very well. Aside from that, you have a nice answer.

I sometimes get carried away with the theme of a story I'm watching for example if I'm watching a love story I will feel more like talking to my girlfriend or filling out an online dating survey than I would otherwise. If I'm watching an adventure story my heart will race right along with the characters and I will think about how boring my life is overall and plan to do some more adventures. I guess thats the mark of good tv writing or good writing in general the reader forgets their own reality for a moment.

Yes most of the time. When I am watching a film, I really wanted to understand it.

Sometimes, it often depends on what sort of mood I am in. If a story has been written particularly well then yes I might get a bit carried away. But I always try not to, as I don't think most stories are all that realistic!

I can get pretty wrapped up in movies that I am watching. My emotions can go a bit overboard. You'd think their situations were happening to me instead of on the screen. i try to tell myself that it's just a movie and it isn't real. Still, sometimes it's just hard to keep those feelings silent.

Yes, I am always carried away with the movies I am watching. I always get more and more affected especially on the climax of the movie. I cry when there are heartbreaking scenes on whatever I am watching. I feel sad when there is a sad ending. And I also get irritated on those irritating scenes. I always put myself on the movie. And I find it more appealing.

hello airasheila! yeah, i get carried away by the emotional movies i watch. even the thrilling, suspense kind gets me tense too, as if i am one of those the bad guys are after. usually though, my friends find me a little nutty for crying my heart out watching love stories. one time, my friend found me in my room unabashedly crying and when asked why i was crying, i told her, i am so moved by the movie THE NOTEBOOK. she told me i am nuts. i answered her, nuts as i am, at least i feel the movie and i enjoyed it although it had me cried. that's why when i am sad, i don't watch love story movies. i wound end up sadder than before.

Yup I am sometimes carried away too. Especially when i was watching P.S. I Love You. It was such a calm, classic and romantic movie. It moved me a lot. Unfortunately my girlfriend split with me and hence i couldn't feel so much for that but the movie moved me quite a lot! Cheers!

I enjoy most stories in movies, but the story has to be really good in order for me to be immersed in the story.

That's very much true in my case. I cry in almost all the romantic movies whenever the sad part of the movie comes in. My boyfriend prefers taking me to some action or adventure movie. He says that you embarrass me all the time in romantic movies and I just chuckle at his situation. These days even he has turned emotional like me. We were watching a romantic movie last night and there was a faint wetness in his eyes...I love to see him when he is full of emotions. I remember once I cried so much in the theater that people were actually asking my boyfriend whether I was alright. LOl!
