Natural Gas Is A Much Cheaper Fuel Then Oil and Can Be Better.

Barack Obama has endorsed having Diesel Trucks run on natural gas instead because its cheaper then oil(much cheaper)and also much more available in supply in the U.S.
The U.S. currently has at least over a 100 year supply of natural gas on its own soil based on estimates. This is not the only benefit of natural gas. Soviet scientists were the first to begin building a helicopter using liquefied natural gas. They also used the liquefied natural gas as a fuel in airplanes. What they found out was liquefied natural gas was less corrosive toward the bearing and stuffing materials and it wouldn’t leak over a hot engine and cause fire or explosion. So not only is natural gas cheaper but it can also help with the maintenance of engines more then gasoline can. Sadly the technological improvement in natural gas use for aviation was quashed by those with interests in the oil business. Remember the main cost for airlines is fuel so they would be saving so much more money if they were to switch to liquefied natural gas. I wouldn't doubt some airliners already use liquefied natural gas as a fuel source now. To compare how much affordable natural gas is compared to oil I looked it up and a barrel of crude oil is currently $75.57 while the current price of natural gas is $3.73.

they should do if for cars. from what i've heard they already use natural gas as a fuel source for cars but i'm not exactly sure where. congress is actually passing legislation to try and get natural gas used more for vehicles. i'm sure natural gas as a widely used fuel source isn't that far away down the road in the future.

That is a big deference that could help out in so many ways. I hope things start to pick up soon. Jobs are needed.

hi elmiko if they can convert natural gas to u se in diesel trucks why not in our modern cars? this would mean incredible savings for motorists
and perhaps it would burn cleaner and make less smog? I would think
this would be a great help to the US a nd its citizens to use natural
gas.

well one reason i've heard the use for natural gas more in bigger trucks such as the diesel trucks is lithium batteries are not powerful enough to use them as a reliable source in order to get the diesel trucks to move. however, the same isn't true for cars with lithium batteries that would actually be a better alternative for cars since they require no fuel or very little like the gm volt that's getting ready to be sold. still it would be better to use natural gas as a source of fuel in smaller vehicles any way because like i said it is much more affordable then oil-based gasoline. common sense will eventually prevail though and i think natural gas will be used as a fuel source in almost all transportation that needs it instead of oil-based fuels.
