Are you morally against buying Fakes?

By Fakes, i mean fake Rolex's, fake clothes, anything that is a gimmick or imitation of a genuine usually expensive product. For instance a rolex, you can go to foreign countries and buy them in a market for $5 whereas they cost thousands of pounds new. Some argue that fakes encourage sweatshop production and the use of forced child labor, whereas other people argue that even buying fakes puts money into countries that desperately need it. Some people say that all faxes are manufactured by gangstars are help to put money into organised crime. What do YOU think?

I don't mind whether I wear clothes which are labelled or not. I obviously don't support sweatshops or anything, but not all fake labels come from places like that. Some of them come from smaller companies, who pay their staff well, who just want to make a little bit of a profit from something which is already making some other people millions of pounds. Plus, I can't exactly afford any designer labels myself, so sometimes I have to look to the cheaper brands to be able to afford the clothes I want. Most labels are incredibly overpriced, anyway.

I am, both morally and estetically. First of all, I don't think it is right to steal designs that others made and put a lot of work into. And second of all, if you are going to spend money on goods anyway, you might as well buy superior quality and design instead of something a bit cheaper that will look ugly and fall apart very soon. So I own no fakes, and do not intend to get any either!
