What is according to you the main difference between American and European athletes?

For a lot of American's it is like they grow up having to choose a sport, and once they choose, they dedicate much time to it. Some go on and play, some become huge fans. Of coarse it's not everybody, but its a huge majority, and when you start young, the love is strong, the dedication is strong.

on that i can agree, the system in America is very different from the European system. But i think there's also a difference in professionality from coaches, medical follow up, training methods etc... It shows when you see the best of the NBA players compared to the best European basketball players, (same for the sprinters)

Based on the performance comparison of American and European athletes when playing basketball in particular, I can see that the Americans are really more athletic and a lot faster than most European athletes. American basketball players use their athleticism and speed in playing basketball. Its been seen in most international games in basketball than Americans tend to dunk more than European or other players in the world. They have a higher leaping ability as well. Speed is top notch that's why they can easily blow by players and then straight to the basket.
