If you got to see my other post under me then you know I got a guinea pig.
My neighbor has two also.
But as I research I find more and more that even pet stores only worry about feeding these little guys their pellets.
I see the pellets while important for their diet, is not as important as their timothy hay, and Vitamin C.
I gave Piglet a slice of orange and he grabbed it out of my hands and sat there with Juice running down his throat to eat the orange
It was so cute to watch him
I just gave him his daily cup of veggies today he had carrots, and celery in his bowl
When he is finished with that, then I will give him a couple of romaine lettuce leafs and his timothy hay.
Does anyone know all the fruits they eat?
I am just curious what other guinea pig owners find that their piggies will eat for them
I did get a reading yesterday in my email that stated "NO Dairy Products" It can cause kidney and bladder stones in their system.
I have never given it to them but was very good to find out
K hope to hear from some piggie owners

There are lots of things that you can feed guinea pigs. I've had guinea pigs for 15 years and they eat all sorts of vegetables although fruit should be given sparingly. They can have: cabbage, cucumber, green beans, brocolli, cauliflower leaves, parsley, green, yellow and orange peppers (remove the seeds as they're poisonous), carrots (not frequently though as they are high in sugar and can give you piggy diabities) apples (without the pips) pears, banana (without the skins) and melon (without the seeds). Don't ever feed them potatoes or tomatoes though because these will make your pig poorly.

When I had Guinea Pigs I used to feed them carrots and lettuce. I had to get rid of my Guinea Pigs because there was no room in my house for them, and my cats thought that they were dinner.

awww how sad
I have two cats but keep my guinea pig locked up safe and sound.
But I do bring him out to play with and the cats watch him.
My part siamese is the curious one.
But so far no problems.
I gave mine a small piece of peach today and he ate most of it.
he did turn his nose up to cantalope though LOL
They deffinately earn their name PIG as they seem to eat all you can give them LOL
Have a great day

I used to own two guinea pigs...year ago. When I had them, I would usually just feed them normal guinea pig pellet that I got from the pet stores. On the weekends I would add in Timothy hay to their diet. Sometimes, if my mum is making salad for dinner, I would feed them some of it..of course without the dressing xD and I also bought this guinea pigs corn nugget treat from a pet store and they absolutely love it. That's how I train them to come to me, like how people would train dogs..
