So although i haven't really been playing very many games lately the ones I have been playing on occasion do "auto-saving" and i'm not talking online games. I am talking offline games too. Sometimes i just like goofing off here and there but I can't do that anymore in a lot of games becuase it just autosaves. It's like. "Be serious 24/7 in this game!" There is just no goofing off anymore.. it's a game, I should be able to save when I want to! haha, *sigh*

I like Auto saves on certain types of games, if it's like a sims game I don't like the auto save because you can mess up and want to go back but can't. I also don't like auto save's when I am stuck on one part and can't figure out how to get back.

Yeah, for certain games it does make sense.. but to start implementing such a thing in so many? Not so much. Do you know if you have the ability to turn it on and off(the auto-saving) on certain games? Orrr. Not really? Is it just built in and you're stuck with it?

Haha, exactly. I am just glad that for the most part. I stick to the classics. Before auto-saving even existed!

I don't mind it as long as it doesn't interrupt whatever I'm doing... like Dragon Age tends to. You're running along enjoying yourself and then bam! wait while we start autosaving then you can go back to what you were doing. It's not a huge deal though, most games that autosave also let you manually save to a different file, so you can just reload an old manual save and ignore the auto save from whilst oyu were goofing around. Look at it from another angle though, if it weren't for things like auto save we'd have things like Dragon Quest where you could 'save when you want to' but you've got to go to ONE specific point on the map and that's the only place you can save. :p

Nope i find them better because in a place such as India there are frequent power cuts and these auto saving features come in very handy then. After finishing a hard level then if the power goes off it would be so irritating for me because i have worked extremely hard and there's nothing i could do and time i played would have been simply wasted. I would always enable auto save features on no matter what happens. Better to be safe than sorry. Cheers!

I suppose that is a different situation and in that case I would actually prefer it to auto-save, then! But when I am just playing around I don't like how it saves every action I do. I feel like a prisoner in the game! If I do something wrong the game will save it and taunt me for the rest of it! Thanks for the response.

Depends on the game, sometimes it's really handy to have in case you forget to save and die or something like that. But sometimes I feel like I rather want to be able to save whenever I want than to have an autosave function x'D

I don't mind it as long as it's not like excessive. Sometimes though it ruins your rhythm...It does bother me a bit but not so much.

Auto saving does make it so you can not goof off as much, but there is one important thing that auto saving does, because if your like me you get so wrapped up in the game you do not always think about saving and there are some games where if you die it is game over,so if it auto saves you do not have to go so far back, and there is always a chance the power could go out so if it auto saves you do not lose your progress, which I know I get mad when I have to do the same parts over because the power went out or the game froze or something which is always another possibility of something that might happen.

I with you on this as well. I should be able to save when I want to as well. For me it is a thrill to go back and remember how I go to the point I did and enhance my skill.
