Eating is easy...

I have always been pampered and spoiled a lot by my mom who makes all my favorite dishes every weekend. I take great joy in relishing each and every bite of food and i enjoy all my meals and courses completely. However recently i have seen that my mom couldn't make the dishes as she made before. And that's when i realized how tough cooking can really be. My mom used to make my favorite pizza and it would be gone in like 10 minutes. I have never realized the pain and hard work which my mom puts in cooking all that food for me. It spoiled my mind so much that one day i tried cooking a dish and after 3 hours of work i managed to make one which i gave my mom. It was not particularly tasty but my mom told me she enjoyed it and she wanted the whole of my dish. I actually knew later that she lied because she wanted me to be proud and happy of a meal which i prepared. Have you ever realized what pains and hard work anyone goes through while cooking? I mean it's difficult to have mind on cooking when we are eating something right? Cheers!

I know the feeling. I never cooked any meals, I really don't know how to cook. I just "cook" with all the ingredients I think fits in. My parents would always eat it and never complain. They will just say if it lacks somethings, but always tell that it is really good. But whenever I try it, it really does not taste good. They are very supportive with all the foods I cook even if it does not taste good at all.

I am an okay cook. I never realized how hard my mother worked in the kitchen until one day when I was living on my own and I decided I would cook Thanksgiving dinner. Oh gosh! What a task that was. I had no problem cooking everything as I made sure I had practiced ahead of time. I had all the recipes down pat, and I even practiced cooking a turkey a month before the big day! What I didn't have figured out ahead of time, was how to get all the dishes prepared and ready all at the same time while making sure everything was still hot. After that day, I appreciated my mother (and even my aunts who would alternate Christmas Dinner). I was so exhausted by the end of the day...I never even sat down to eat until later on that night.

eating is so easy when someone is cooking the food for you. cooking is so hard especially when you want the food to be taste delicious. i was always do cook foods in our house. for a person who cook like me, we always want to be appreciated on the food that we cook. when someone compliments to the food that we cook, we feel so very happy despite of being tired.

It is difficult to cook. There are so many things that you need to be careful of while you are cooking. But it doesnt matter for the cook no matter how hard cooking is as long as people are going to appreciate what she or he cooked.

Eating is easier that cooking i guess, because you just sit down and eat the prepared food. Its much better to it your own dish to feel how hard and how much effort you need to come up for the best meal or dish.

You obviously have a great mother. And you are right! Eating is easy, it's the cooking and the cleaning that is a pain. And our moms just do it, day in a day out, without complaining. Moms are the real superheroes. We should tell them how much we appreciate them as they will not always be with us. I know, my mom is no longer with us.

Hi, What I can say is that cooking is not an easy task. Lot of time need to spent in doing a cooking. That is why I always cook something simple for my family. Those dishes that are more complicated and need lot of times to prepare are out of my mind. Normally, I will cook 3 simple dishes within an hour and I can do it. One soup, one stir-fried vegetable and one meat(chicken/pork). I really miss my mother's cooking,She can cook better than me and she is doing the cooking everyday too. I always pampered by her cooking when I go back to my hometown, she will cook lot of my favourite dishes and it makes me put on weight easily. However, when I saw my husband and my son enjoy my dishes,I feel happy and at least, they enjoy the food that I prepared.

Hi raviteja_ravi84, It is good to see that you appreciate your mother's hard work when it comes to cooking you all your favorite meals. You are very lucky to have a mother that is still willing to cook you a hot delicious meal. You don't have to grab fast food n the run. For some people, cooking is very relaxing. They enjoy cooking as football players enjoy their game. It is difficult, but the excitement it brings it worth the time put into it. Obviously, for you coking was not so enjoyable. However, I am proud of you for trying to make your mother a dish. I am sure she was very proud of you as well. I am sure you appreciate her even more after you tried your hand at cooking.

Don't I know that well. My mom could do no wrong in the kitchen when I was a kid and she never complained because she liked seeing me eat. However, when I got sick with hyperthyroidism, all delicious meals she used to make didn't appeal to me anymore...eating didn't appeal to me anymore. Though she understood my condition, she still shared that she really invests a lot in preparing meals for me and the rest of the family, not just time and know-how but a tremendous amount of love as well so seeing that I had no interest whatsoever really broke her heart. Now that I have my appetite back, she said she feels more accomplished after whipping up something because she could actually see me enjoying them now.

Cooking is not only difficult when you are eating. It is very much hard to cook when you have children crying to be attended to and many other things to be done all at the same time. Welcome to the woman's world ravi. At least you appreciate what your mother has done for you for so many years. Some people still don't think it is a big deal. And the worst part is after all the efforts one puts in to prepare all those number of dishes and you don't even get a compliment! All we get is scowls and complaints most of the time.

I think that when we factor in the hard work we all do and easy and quickly it can be broken down and gone into nothingness, we would freak but because we don't do that and just enjoy it makes it much easier to not notice. Yes its hardwork but your mother wouldn't do it if she didn't want to, so just appreciate her for the fact that she does and trust shes very happy and delighted to see that you've guys have gobbled down the extra tasty dishes, just make sure you leave some for her and offer to do the clean up.

I know all too well all of the hard work that goes into cooking a meal. As a mom of 2 and a husband who eats enough to feed a battalion! My husbands favortie meals are the ones that take the longest to make. Like enchiladas....which happens to be his favorite dinner, it also happens to take me 3-4 hrs to prepare! And after all that time and work it's gone in 15 mins flat, I'm lucky if I get a chance a seconds (i love it too!) which I never do! In fact my husband is coming home in 2 wks and I promised him I'd have 2 cassaroles ready for him, ugh. But he's been away for a long time so I'll be happy the day before working my tush off in the kitchen, making enchiladas!

Cooking is never easy!! It might look easy, and taste good, but the hard work behind all those nice presentation, is nothing short of effort. Some people always think that cooking is easy, from what they see, flipping, frying a little here and there, add a little of oil, salt or sugar etc, and the food is done. However it's not as simple as it is. One has got to know when it's the right timing for those flavourings to go into the dish, and how long the cooking time takes. There's a technique to cooking. IF it's so easy, everybody would have become a top chef.

yes, eating is easy, but eating too much is not easy. it cost you a lot. first you will need to get to enroll to a gym workouts, maybe got to have some regular health check-up for high cholesterol and other stuff.

Wow, that's really thoughtful of you. I understand you, completely, because now that I'm living alone, I'm starting to miss my mom's home cooked meal. We would finish the whole thing in just minutes, not realizing how tough it is to cook food three times a day and seven days a week. Props to all the hardworking mothers out there. :)

I am the last of four girls and was never fortunate to be in the kitchen but I always enjoy the fruits of my sisters cooking. Now that I am grown and have children of my own I am forced to prepare these tasty meals for my family. Its a hard dreadful job. Now I appreciate the time and effort my family put into the meals I enjoyed. Now, even though I hate cooking, I get joy from seeing my child devour every last piece on the plate.

ya i know you feelings very well thats why i alwasy eat everything (well at least i try) that my mom or my girlfriend makes to me, because i know the hard work they put to just make that food for me. try to make a diferent dish every single day is far from a easy job from buy wash to cook my mom spend at least 3 hours a day at kitchen. my friends just do your moms a favor and eat everything she makes to you, you will make she happy and she will try harder to make even better dishes for you next time soo its a win win situation :).
