how do you determine a favorite song?

I love music a lot, and I have lots of favorite songs, but they're from different genres, sometimes they clash. Sometimes I like a song because it has a catchy tune, sometimes because everyone likes it I eventually like it also, sometimes because it has nice lyrics and sometimes because the lyrics say exactly what I'm going through. So, how about you? How do you know when a song can be considered your favorite?
