Hello my friend Lakota12 Ji,
You will see, when it comes under proper circulation. Even I have seen only in photo. So nice of you for sharing my joy of my Indian new currency. Its as just introduced about 2-3 months back, and will take some time to reach to common public. Like First day-postal stamps issue, this may be introduced with lot of pomp and show. At least and at last, we have our own designed currency. This Rupee was designed by an IITian from Kanpur-IIT, I am proud to disclose that my hubby comes from that place.
Take care.
May God bless You and have a great time.

Over the past few years new coins have been intriduced in the economy...and they look good..even the newly introduced rs.10 coin is also good but not highly circulated...though I'v a couple of them...the new coin with the rupee symbol looks cool...has the circulation of the coins started?

Over time as the cost of producing currency goes up, governments must come up with alternative coinage and currency that will allow true representation of the value of that currency. As the value of money goes down and that of things goes up, it is impossible for any government to continue with some denominations of coinage made up of the same denomination, shape, size, weight and materials.
There was a time (and I am not talking about times very distant - I am talking about the past - less than 100 years ago), a 25 paise coin was made of silver. Toady the value of that same silver is a lot more than the new 10 rupees coin. Or consider even the 1 paise copper coin of the 1950's and 1960's that I think is itself worth more that the present ten rupees.
Let's see for how long the country will be able to release even ten rupee coins-maybe over the next decade or two, if inflation continues at its present pace,we may be using 100 rupees coins as common change.
Thanks for the picture of the new 10 rupee coin though!

In 1960, 25 Ps coin carried more value than 25 Ps in actual and it was purchased by some bussinessmen, melted and useful metal used for ornaments etc. Govt. has to do many things, before releasing in public. Take care.
May God bless You and have a great time.
