The lack of interest put into games...

People making games now-a-days don't seem to put half as much effort into the games as they used to... It used to have to involve skill and make you think to be entertaining, but now it just requires good graphics and the ability to blow someone's head off. Xbox Live/PS3 Online Games are totally different though. In an MMO, it seems that most every single MMO out there now is "Kill, Level, Skill Up, Kill, Level, Kill, Level, Kill Level" Basically the same thing over and over... All the good MMOs from a long time ago now require money to be fun or even be decent at the game... I don't care what anyone says, but Runescape was the first game to offer more then four choices to what you can do. There's something like 24 skills that you can choose from, if you don't want to do one, then you have a tonne to do otherwise, I think the reason people didn't like it was because of the graphics and the *click* *wait* *Click* *wait* But Runescape has inceased it's graphics in 3D High-Def version to an amazing level. But they still have their click wait click wait game style. Doesn't matter what anyone says, Runescape was an amazing game for it's time and seems to be the ONLY game that doesn't limit you to a select few options for gaming. But, you need to be a member to do anything fun in it... Same with Conquer Online, The game was very repedative, but the actual PVP in the game was a lot of fun...however...they brought in so much stuff that now you HAVE to put money into the game to be decent unless you have a LOT of time on your hands... I'd just really love to see a game like Runescape, with a more interactive PVP system like Ether Saga Online or WoW. Where you don't click and wait, you actually chose on the fly of all the skills you have. The PVP system was also good in Archlord. But you had to put money into that to be any good... The money based games sometimes aren't that bad because the monthly subscription isn't all that much. Some are even free. PS3 games are all free online but the community is a bit smaller. Xbox games cost $69.99 for a year...that's about $5.75 a month. Not bad... FPS games have been pretty good as they come, but too many people hack in online games, Combat Arms to be specific. the Modern Warfare Series and the Halo series have given possibly the best FPS games out there. Then the rest I can't speak for because I don't play many other games on the Xbox because I'm still hooked with MW2. Anyways back to the point of this; I have to say my ALL TIME favourite game is Dark Cloud. Custom Built worlds, to however you wanted. Custom Built weapons, to however you wanted. 6 different characters that you could play. 3 Top weapons for each character so you could always go for a different weapon if you got bored. I just think the idea they had with Dark Cloud was amazing, and that was way back for the PS2. I have wanted to play Dark Cloud 2 for about 4 years now. But I have yet to get it or play it...I am still waiting on it though...I will not give in on that... What was your favourite game for an older system? What's your current favourite game? If you wanted to see an old game brought and refurbished into a new system with new graphics, which would it be? My favourite game for an older system is Dark Cloud. My favourite game for a new system is Modern Warfare 2. I would love to see the Dark Cloud series bring a third installment for the Xbox 360/PS3/Wii It would do really well on the Wii since you could custom swing your sword with the Wii-Mote. But the graphics on the Wii sucks. But I guess it would have to be for the PS-Move or the Wii2 or the Xbox720. (Yes there is a PS-Move, Wii2 and Xbox720 coming out.)

Dark Cloud 2 was great, they cut the party down to two people, but they added more weapons, let you play with the characters outfits, and added what amounts to a minigolf mini-game. They did fiddle with the town building aspect just enough to make you *have* to dungeon crawl a whole lot more, which is fine because it's an excuse to level your weapons some more. I'm a sucker for games that make use of character customization though. Not so big on the whole MMO experience though. I'm just not competetive enough to give a rat about PVP. Heck about the only multi-player I play is co-operative. .
