If you want someone to listen when you gripe, be gracious when they gripe too. Nothing is more annoying than talking to someone who consistently one-ups your misery. It is deeply unsatisfying to hear “well, you think that’s bad, let me tell you what happened to me……’ there more. It’s also alright to decide not to complain on something. You get to pick your battles and if you don’t wanna fight, you don’t have too. Sometimes the best course of action is to let things go and don’t care at about it at all. Are you becoming a competitive complainer?

I for one am not an avid complainer, I will however if asked will inform of bad wills. But the way I see it is at the moment someone is complaining it is suppose to about them. Not me.
This is something I learned within the years that I had to accept that it was not always about me. A very valuable lesson.
Besides who wants to hear when not asking over and over you think you have it bad, HA! How nervy!

I"m a complainer but I don't know about being competitive. I'd rather share good things if I had any worth bragging about... wich is the hard part these days.
Though My Aunt is pretty good at it she doesn't try to one up your complaints but she complains about every lil thing people do wrong even if it's something out of courtesy.
Even loves to tell people the basic terms of her issues and the "you haven't walked in my shoes, don't go there" line... is true but strangers don't care KWIM?

This very thing drives me crazy about two of my really good friends.
Sometimes I think they must not really care about me at all because it is always all about them, everyday.
Then I realized that they are good friends that are just a little to self absorbed.
Recently I called one of them out on this and now it has gotten a lot better. I try very hard to remember what is going on for my friends and I try to be a good listener.
