Hello,my lotters! Sometimes it seems that the internet is like a drug.Because I say in my mind:"Only 5 minutes and after that....out!" But can pass an hour, maybe and I'm still online.I don't know how. "I will search one more movie and that's all!" When I look at my watch is midnight!LOL What do you think? Is internet a new kind of drug? How many hours do you spend online? Let's talk about it!

Oh yes definitely. I will admit that I am highly addicted to the internet. When you are jobless and applying for jobs, then having to wait for call backs in between applying, and when there's nothing else to really do, you tend to get very bored. At least that's how it is for me. On average, I'm usually online anywhere between ten and seventeen hours a day. Though in between being online, I'm generally running my dad to his appointments, cleaning house, taking care of the dogs and cats, running errands for someone else, washing laundry, doing class assignments and projects for my classes. And usually when I'm online, I'm researching, applying for a job, taking care of responsibilities at a forum I help administrate, chatting with friends, checking e-mail, playing a game or two with friends, and overall just making use of the internet. But at the same time I admit to feeling bored at times with the internet, or perhaps there's a better term for "needing a break" from the internet. Right now with my classes in session, I won't be taking a break. But I keep telling myself that when they are over, I will take a five to seven day break from the entire internet. I've actually done this a few times before, and it felt nice. But yeah I realize just how addicted I really am, because I'm thinking to myself if I really really want to take that break..

I think yes, we have the same problem. I had told myself to surf on the net for only 1 hour but it took 5 hrs. I keep on telling that I have to do this or that. Usually, every weekends I almost spend 10 hours on the net.

I agree with this statement. The internet can be very addicting. There are even support groups for internet addicts and they are held on the internet :)There are so many sites on here that I can make money with that it is hard not to keep looking to see what you will find next. I spend several hours on here a day doing paid sites. I am now working from home to make extra money because I have health issues that are keeping me from getting a regular job.

I only spend as much time on the internet as i need. But realy it just depends on what kind of person you are. Most people also like the idea of being anonymous on the internet.

I certainly spend many many hours each day on the internet. Firstly, I need to use the internet for things related to my work. Internet has become the information highway these days, and many of the information I need to find related to my work has to be searched there. And, of course, with emailing becoming the fastest way of communication, internet becomes a necessity again. Yes, of course, not to forget, I enjoy playing online games on the internet too !!!!

Oh yes... the internet is totally addicting and I probably spend more time online than I should! I also have the problem of saying I'm going to be online for just a little while and then the next time I look at the clock, it's midnight. I try to leave the computer off if I have other things that I need to do... but the internet really is addicting.

The internet is the hottest entertainment medium right now, so it is addictive...taking over television's long reign. It's real easy to understand why...the interaction. Get what you want, when you want. When you watch TV you have to watch what "they" want you to see, when you go on YouTube you can watch what "you" want to see. Instant gratification. Don't forget about the very addictive social networks like Facebook and Twitter, tons and tons of online games, tons more video sites where you can control the content, and much, much, much, much, much, more. The internet has conquered video stores and cable tv, I think it will be here for awhile.

Hello! I've never timed myself on my internet usage but it is a lot. The thing is, the time absolutely flies and you feel as though you haven't really done much. If you spent the same amount of time (as I often do) cleaning the house, etc, at least I know I've been productive..and the time goes nowhere near as fast doing the chores! It's very strange!

I agree somewhat about the internet being another kind of addiction. I have said I would stay on the internet for an hour and then I look at the time and it's six hours that I have been on the internet. Internet is addicting, though I can control myself if I want too. I usually spend more than six hours on the internet from watching videos, reading emails, on social networks, etc. I sometimes think time passes too fast because I don't feel like I haven't been on the internet that long even though I have been on for a long while already.
