Luffy's weapon

Do you think Luffy should get a weapon? I think so! He needs some rocking gloves! He realizes that there are some things he shouldn't touch with bare fists (like with magellan) so he should get some gloves as his main weapon. Though that would look too much like Tsuna-kun...

For some reason I just can't picture Luffy with any kind of weapons. He's more of the old fashioned kind that uses only his fists. And I think it's cool that he's able to adapt to those situations when his fists don't cut it. That's what makes him an interesting guy. Giving him a weapon of some kind would just make him a bit too powerful and where's the fun with that. He needs to go through these obstacles to become stronger. That's just my opinion though.

Yeah, I guess haki would be enough. Though it would be kind of fun for a movie feature. Like the time he used doru doru armor from Mr.3 Then again, after re reading the last chapters, I realized that haki is already a form of weapon and armor. I'm really excited to how strong he will be by the end of the time skip. Not to mention that there should be some difference in appearance of the crew. 2 years does a lot. especially since they are still at that age of puberty. :D Luffy will be like 20-21 then.. Think he will seem a bit more mature?

I know what you mean. I'm also excited about this whole two year time skip too. And Haki is definitely a very good weapon to have, better and cooler than any old weapon. I'd like to think that Luffy will always remain that goofy kid but I'm pretty sure that he'll be a bit more mature and grown up. He'll still have his moments though.

I don't think that though. Well, you see there's a skill that can let him punch anything. It is called haki. Anyone cannot survive the new world without it. That's how strong pirates and marines in the real world are. Also, if you continue to read the manga, Luffy already learned this Haki and improved it for few years. That's why the story gets more exciting.

I hate the idea of a glove.. mainly because it will really feel like a rip-off of Tsuna and I don't even like Tsuna. Anyway, Luffy did wear boxing gloves before during his Davy Back fight. He was wearing an afro too. I don't think Luffy needs a weapon. Once he learns Haki, he will have less problems with opponents like Magellan. Luffy is a genius in combat fight and he should work more on that, rather than trying to get some weapons.

I only remembered Luffy wield a weapon once and he was way so strong during his fight with Moria or Oz the giant. Its the time when he turned into nightmare Luffy where he was given a hundred of shadows and one of the shadows was a swordsman. But if Luffy is going to wear some kind of gloves, I think this will conflict with his gear third ability where he can make his arms or legs grow gigantically. Not to mention if he will have a special glove that wont tear off when he uses that technique. But for me, I prefer Luffy not having any weapon since his fighting style is really a hand to hand combat. Let's just wait until he mastered using his haki, and we'll see how he will use it with his gomu gomu ability. I think touching Magellan wouldn't be a problem then since haki seems to nullify most devil fruit abilities.

Luffy did use weapons before just like the sword at thriller bark and the time when he uses a boxing glove wearing an afro hair(that was epic and funny). but most of the things luffy uses are PEOPLE. Mr.3 at Empel Down, Buggy the clown at Marine Head Quarters. i think making luffy weild a primary weapon would make the manga/anime imbalance. Luffy with Gomugomu no mi plus King's Haki is enough. It makes the manga/anime more exciting.
