Why...why has he been dropped from the team...just because he had a bit of poor form...thats it or is there some other reason behind him being dropped from the team...team does not drop one of their leading impact players just because he has a bit of a dip in form...do other teams do the same thing with their impact players...i doubt.

Hi, I think the England cricket board have taken the right decision. The rest for Pietersen is required for him.His recent form was not good.He began to slide down in his career. He is also losing his self confidence and self esteem. He is one of the top batsmen in the world. It is very sad when these type of batsmen don't perform. He definitely needs rest which would help him to regain his form.He must be disturbed by something. This will be a great disadvantage for the England team. There will be a great impact impact on England team due to absence of Pietersen.I think this is one of the usual things. The other teams would also like to rest their big players if they are not in form or struggling to find their form.A break form cricket will help to recover their form. Not only for big players, even other players need rest even if they are in form.Normally human beings get tired if they continue to work or play which will cause them fatigue. This is one of the reason for big players being rested. But the newspapers and media used to criticize the player who has been rested for a series. They will spread false news by publishing that the player is having a controversy with the coach or teammates.Hope everything changes and media takes this positively.

I am actually very surprised myself. In fact, he was the start of the T20 world cup and since then England has hardly played much of T20 to really drop him from the team. Yes, he is struggling for form in the longer versions of the game, but in the shorter versions of the game he is much better suited. So yes this one came as a bit of surprise for me. Cheers! Ram

I think ECB wanted to give him strong message that he needs to work on his batting as he is great prospect for world cup and another important tournaments. This i think is a wake up call for him.Selectors do this time to time in every country to pass a strong message that player is not selected by his reputation but his current form, i am sure Pietersen will be back very soon. But tweet about it before announcement of team , is it a cool thing? may be inviting more trouble.
