Is it just me, or did deathnote suddenly die off?

Hey everyone I just finished watching the entire anime of deathnote. If you havent seen it already, i have 2 things to say. Firstly, i realy reccomend it, and secondly, look away now to avoid any spoilers. Ok, in deathnote, around episode 27 (37 in total), L gets killed by Rem. Is it just me, or did the anime suddenly get a bit rubbish at this point? I felt that L and Light really sort of complemented each other in a weird way, the way each one was trying to get one move ahead of the other. And how does it end? By Light telling Rem he needs to kill L. I just found this to be rubbish! I would have prefered something like L got his hand on the other deathnote, and it became a battle between 2 people with deathnotes (so L's shinigami could see than Light was a deathnote owner, and L would have to try and prove it, and vice versa). But instead, L gets killed off in a way that was sort of unavoidable, and yet really stupid. And you get his "heirs" to catch light. Its annoying that they almost start where L left off, somehow managing to work out everything that L did in like 1 episode! Whats more annoying is that L was my favourite character, so not only does my fav. character get killed off, but it then feels like they are trying to drag the series on by introducing loads of new characters. But then it suddenly feels like the makers realised that it wasnt any good, and had to start killing everyone off! Is it just me who was dissapointed?

I'd say read the manga. They go into a little more more in the ending then the anime did. They actually show a few months (or years, can't remember) later on where "KIRA" became somewhat of a religious craze. But in the end, most people do die.

The Manga's writer intended it to end the way it did, although the manga is much better than the anime when it came to the ending.

You didn't watch "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" did you? This show is still very much alive. In fact, at most Anime Expos on the West Coast, people still dress up as Misa and L.
