I have this domain name workwithgom.com that I used to point to my old website at rocketstart.com/magtibay through domain name forwarding. Later, I have created a new website with Google Sites and decided to redirect the domain name to this new site at sites.google.com/site/workwithgom. The problem is, I got different results with my domain name forwarding. When i type in workwithgom.com on the Mozilla browser, it leads to sites.google.com/site/workwithgom. But whenever I put a prefix of http:// or www, it always direct to the original site which is rocketstart.com/magtibay. How can I get rid of this? Can you help me? What do you suggest for me to do? I want to focus my domain name forwarding solely to my new site at Google sites.

First, you should understand that www.workwithgom.com and workwithgom.com are different from each other. The style www.workwithgom.com,we often call it,secondary domain or subdomain, but the workwithgom.com is the main one. For example: workwithgom.com. A 1.2.3.4 www.workwithgom.com. A 2.3.4.5 *.workwithgom.com. A 3.4.5.6 That will ok. There is no conflict.(The third one is a wildcard domain record) You should check your DNS configuration yourself or paste it out to see if somebody can help you.

Since I am not a techie person, I am a medical person (BS Pharmacy), I am having hard time comprehending all these things. I just learned to create my own webpage and to set up my own domain name by self study. But anyway, thanks for the explanation. It is only now that I am able to learn and understand the difference between the two. I will try to follow your suggestion of checking my DNS configuration.

I am curious how's the control panel of Network Solutions, GoDaddy or Global Domains International look like. Anyone here who can tell story of their experience with these other domain services? I suspect this VeryVIP domain service is really hard to understand for a non-techie like. If ever I see a much better, more simpler, more user-friendly domain name service, then next time I will register my chosen domain name, I will choose that one. Anyone here?
