You have suddenly found a new enthusiasm for living or given another opportunity to redeem yourself.
It could be that you have recovered from a health problem, quit smoking, mending a relationship with family, friend or foe, or making good progress in studies. The list is endless.
Have you managed to keep going at this new lease of life and not slack (ok, ok, maybe a little), smelling the sweet scent of the new lease of life and appreciating every moment of it. Or you have just become easily complacent with the 'easy come, easy go' kinda of thoughts.
What do you tell yourself to keep focused on this new lease of life. Do share your thoughts...

Hello Carpediem,
I must admit that I have been through that phase. I am blessed to have true friends to make me feel important and cling on to life. I would rather not dwell into those past memories but I am rather lucky to have true friends.
Even some of the new friends I have made just recently have become so invaluable to me. its a second chance I'll say and a wiser chance for me!
How about you? Please share your bit too!

hi bodhisatya - thanks for your sharing. I guess it is important to have true friends who bring you over the bridge of misery.
For myself, I guess it has got to be my retina detachment about 6 years back. I remembered walking to the office in the morning and suddenly my right eye was like seeing stars. It just couldn't send visual signals to the brain. I was quite a workaholic then and I thought of the many tasks to be accomplished for that day.
After dropping my bag at the office, I rushed to see a doctor who referred me to the eye clinic in a hospital. But because the hospital did not have the laser machine to do the operation, I have to run to another place to get my right eye operated!!
I was on my own and trying to act normal.
After my operation, I resolved to treasure my health more and not to stress my eyes over long hours at the PC, excel spreadsheet and systems ... So to me that is my new lease of life and I have changed job. I could have gone blind.

hi bodhi, thanks for your word of encouragement. Yup, things are on an even keel now as I do go for yearly checks for my eye condition.

Hi carp,
I experienced that when I came out of an abusive relationship with my ex. It was quite a traumatic experience but I am grateful to my friends who offer me a lot of help and support along the way. It is certainly a whole life transformation for me. I do wish to work on improving all my relationships in life.

hi bmp, oops, an abusive relationship certainly traps one, especially mentally.
It is like "you can run away but you can't hide" type of feeling. Glad you are out of it and lived to tell the story. By sharing, perhaps others can learn how to handle it better.
It is important to have good friends who stay the course with you over this traumatic experience as I believe it does haunt one every now and then.

I have found an enthusiasm into recovering. I have gone and still going through quite a bit for the last nine months.
My new lease on life is how can I get back on my feet and maintain it that way. See the way I see it have have nothing else to lose and well if I could get a grasp on my life now, with all the lessons alongside my path I have picked up some really comforting ways on how I want to continue to live.
I have learned that although prior I had no choices but to get into the high paying debts I did and now am faced with juggling and learning that me, has to more important here in. As I have taken care of so many people in the past that I did not stop to think about myself.
Hope this makes sense.

hi hwg, all the best to getting back on your feet and learning or re-learning how to live again. Life can be beautiful you know.
I guess it is important to keep some sense of sanity too in going through the best and worst of times.
