Ubuntu 10.04 - any had problems with Empathy chat?

Here the last few days i have been having problems with Empathy not sending or receiving yahoo messages... anyone else have this problem or is it a local thing to my machine.
Be great if a few folks could reply to let me know if is a bug, how to fix it, or am I going to have to do a fresh install... going nuts here without my messenger(s)

Haven't tried Empathy with Ubuntu. I usually use my Kubuntu partition for daily use so I'm using Kopete for YM and other internet message services.
Since Ubuntu 10.04 is fairly new, you may find better answers in specific Ubuntu forums rather than here at myLot. Most of the time, I find it difficult to get feedback for really new stuff. So, searching for answers require some persistence and creative use of search engines.

I down have tried pidgin, and kopete as well. I was surprised kopete worked with gnome, as some KDE apps don't seem to.
I think the problem is with Yahoo... I have had the same results with all the messenger clients so far. I am switching to Gtalk and hopefully that goes better.
