malouda as captain of france

Malouda is on form at the moment, but been on form does not mean he has the capability to lead the team. French players have big ego and it is almost impossible for them to accept a younger player as their captain. So Iloris is obviously not the choice.

I think Blanc simply did not have any other player to select. All the experienced ones are either banned or suspended due to their involvement in the strike. So from those who were available, probably Blanc felt that Malouda is the best choice available to him. I think I will wait for a few more matches before seeing whether Malouda gets this job on the long term or whether someone else takes it over from him. Cheers! Ram
