Hey guys do you really let your batter be empty before charging, 'cause I'm not. I am charging the phone as soon it is low batter or even not. And I am doubting maybe I got a battery problem all the time because of this?

Ideally.., we have to drain the battery totally before charging it.., so I was told yet.., I don't do it.., it's because most of the time.., i have to leave home and have to bring my phone with full battery.., so i will charge the battery before I leave either it's halfway down or battery empty..=)

Yes that is the reason why I don't drain my battery because I am preferring for the next day and for emergency purposes too.

Hello cheravs, Yes, if you follow charging your battery only after it warns you, you would have a longer lasting battery. Happens the same with laptop batteries, and the difference is that you get to know the difference in your laptop. But the laptop batteries and your cell batteries have different chemicals in them, but both are dry cell. I believe there is software available on the internet which vibrates your phone battery till it's low. You could use this software if you have time to charge in and your battery is running low but not giving a warning. You could run the software and drain the energy till the alert comes and they charge it soon and leave your home happy.

I know that the battery life become shorter after a few years, but I never knew the real reason behind it and maybe thats why. Most people I know wont let it go empty before charging and my phone is almost never turned off. But I dont really think thats the reason for bad batterys...

I heard for the older generation phone, you need to fully exhaust the battery before charging it. If not, the battery life will be shorten. But for the newer generation, you do not need to do it, except maybe for the first time.

It depends on what type of battery. There are batteries that SHOULD be drained before charging it, and others that you SHOULD NOT let to drain. I am not sure what types of batteries belongs to where. Whether it is nickel or lithium or whatever it is they are using now.

I usually have a schedule when I need to charge my phone battery. On the weekdays, it's pretty much everyday after work. Before I go to bed to when I wake up. On the weekends, it can usually go the whole weekend before I need to charge it again since I don't use it for much. I have a lot of features on my phone that I seem to use more on the weekdays when I'm at work. Using the internet during the week can drain my battery and not to mention it roams and doesn't have a signal when I'm inside the breakroom. What would drain it the most on the weekends is me using the GPS on the phone if I'm going to a new place. When I get home from work I'll have about 50% of my battery left. I don't text as much as I used to, but that has been known to make my battery life go down quicker. I wouldn't feel comfortable letting my battery get to low, I'd shut my phone off before that happens of course. You never know if a emergency would need to come up and you need your phone to have enough power.

It is not necessary but it is best to let it get as empty as possible. But if you need your phone to be charged and don't want to take any chances then continue to do what you are doing. The new batteries are not so much like the old ones where they had to be empty to be recharged. Don't re-charge it if is only a tiny bit low.

they say that charging a cellphone's battery when it is not yet empty or at least low battery will damage the battery's quality. I used to charge it too even if it is not yet low bat, and I think that must be the reason my cellphone always ran out of battery easily. That is why when I got a new phone, I just charge its battery when it is already empty or at least low bat..better do that than waste money on buying a new battery...
