I've recently signed up for O Desk and been applying to job posting, I haven't scored a real assignment though... Anyone here part of that system? Have you been assigned to a task and paid?

hi rech, there's more to it than typing jobs. Some tasks let you post comments in forums and they'll pay you around $0.20 per post composed of 15 words. At first, it's difficult to find jobs since we're just newbies. But there are a lot posted there from typing jobs to being a virtual assistant. It's like you're a secretary but just on line but most of those tasks require skype. That's why I stick to the ones that I can do.

So you mean, you've already got an actual job here? I'm just curious because when I tried signing up with that and browsed for jobs, I found the jobs quite hard or I'm not just familiar with it. Some are quite boring like posting one article to another, or testimonials. A friend had told me that I must take the exam first to be Odesk ready so i can easily qualify for the jobs and that it's really better if i had credentials..

Hi I have been working with odesk for 2 years now. Yes they really pay and always on time. You mentioned that you weren't able to get any assignments from odesk. I'm just wondering because you did not mention if you started applying for jobs there? Because that's how they work after you're done with the creation of your account, resume and after you're done with the odesk readiness exam you will have to browse thru the jobs and bid (apply) for jobs that you can do. Always take note of how much the employer is willing to pay for the job so that your bid is just within their budget. Odesk is like applying in real life where in you have to apply for a job and the employer will send you an invite for an interview thou sometimes they hire you right away if they liked your resume. After the interview either you wait for several days for their decision if they're going to hire you or not or they will inform you right away. When applying in odesk you have to be patient and you have to check on available jobs on a daily basis and apply to as much jobs as you can so that you will have different options and also so that you can get a job faster. Hope this helps. :)

I'm quite interested with that 0 desk. Once you've got hired, what are the sample tasks that I can do? Is it just a typing job?
