minority and are very intelligent. The right handed people think from the left side of their mind whilst the left handed people uses their right side of the mind. Do you know that 13 August 2010 is an appreciation day for the Southpaws.
Famous personalities who are Southpaws are Ronald Reagan, B Obama, Bill Gates, President Netanyahu of Israel, Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore, Oprah Winfrey, Leonard da Vinci and George W. Bush.
I have 2 young nephews, one is a left-hander and the other a right-hander. Often times when they sit next to each other, their arms will clash if one's left-hand is next to the other right-hand. This can be quite hilarious sometimes especially when they don't see the 'problem' of their uniqueness.
Do you know of anyone who is a Southpaw. Do share your experiences (funny or otherwise) with a Southpaw.
By the way, I am a right-hander.

I was born a southpaw and for many years remained so.However during my school days and especially when i was studying in the primary my school teachers said that it is bad to be a left hander and they forced me to write with my right hand and do many other things with the right hand. This led to a loss of confidence and also spoilt my hand writing. However during my working days as an Architect i found it useful because i became amvidextrous, ie i could use both my hands while making the architectural drawings much to the bemusement and envy of my colleagues. Now i am completely a right handr but when using a knife and fork i hold the knife in my left hand and the fork in my right hand which is reverse of what most people who are right handers do.When i used to play cricket, i would bat right handed but bowl left handed.so there are some thing i do left handed and some things right handed. And,of course, I am intelligent, haha.

hi veejay, indeed you are intelligent enough to be ambidextrous, haha.
Perhaps you have it in you already as you would have an artistic and creative streak in you, being an architect. But being ambidextrous doesn't make us more efficient, does it?

I am ambidextrous. I can write using both my left and right hand. My siblings and I are supposed to be all left handed, but my mom insists that we use our right hand for writing but, being the hard headed that I am.. Whenever my mom is not around, I would write using my left. That's why I learned to write on both hands.

I have friends who are left handed but no funny experiences. I was ambidexterous and could use me left hand for anything but writing
then I fell three years ago and had such a bad fracture of my
shoulder Ihad to have a shoulder joint replacement with
an arificial shoulder joint of metal and plastic, I lost most
of the u se of my left arm and can now not brush or comb myhair
with my left hand cannot do much of anything with my left arm but
type. sob sob.so no longert ambidexterous and I so miss that.

I am right handed and for the life of me cannot write with the left hand as sometimes I have tried and my writing looks like chicken scratch and tires me out as i get frustrated trying.

hi hwg, how are you doing. I would have great difficulty using my left hand to write, just not adept at it. Just count my blessings that I have hands and use each of them for what they are best for. I use my left hand normally to carry stuff.

I am a right-hander and I admire those who can do things with both hands. There are some Chinese people who can hold brushes and write calligraphy with both hands at the same time.
I have worried about if my right hand is hurt, my left hand pretty much can't do anything and I have tried training it. I can use the chopsticks with my left though writing is still a tough task.
I always thought that left-handers are smarter and more intelligent and from the observation of friends, I would think it is true.

hi bmp, generally most of the tools and equipment are for right-handed people. It would definitely need some will of power to train oneself to use the left-hand.
I am also very impressed with people who can paint with their feet or with their mouth.
