Is it true that table manners say that one should not eat clean your food, that one should leave something on the plate, and that it is bad manners to eat your food to the last crumb? I usually do not leave any crumb on my plate anywhere, whether at a restaurant or party. Why? It is because I usually bring home the left-overs for my dogs at home. I know that this is another no-no when it comes to social gatherings, but I sort of feel guilty leaving food on my plate which I know my dogs would love to eat. How about you? Do you do the same thing?

It really depends based on the particular society you are in, and it can get really confusing at times. There are places where you are obliged to eat everything to the last bite, otherwise it would be an offense to the chef/cook. In other areas, eating everything on your plate is disrespectful because it's a sign of gluttony. Manners are really relative to culture, it depends on the perspective of the people you're with.

Yes I also do the same thing. I don't waste food because if you leave something on a plate is a bad manner.
