Esoteric studies: real or mumbo jumbo?

I've been reading a lot of books and articles about crystals, tarot, magic, energy healing, The Secret, breathwork, the chakras and sound and colour therapy. I've also attended a variety of workshops and meditation classes, plus yoga and nia dancing. I'm in search of answers to help me live a better, more fulfilled life and to try and find peace, happiness and enlightenment. It's so difficult to know if I'm just being hopeful in trying to attain balance in my life; or if all this new-age stuff is just mumbo jumbo? Have any of you had any significant experiences out there, that signifiy that our souls live on? Or are we just here this once and it's all just luck of the draw where you land up and what happens to you? Is there such a thing as karma? Or are we just "ants on the planet's face" and when we die, that's it - we become compost - just here to continue the species - insignificant and forgotten as soon as we're gone? If any of you have any of the answers, please let me know. Cheers - S
