Hi Mylotters, I am using I am facing the most weird thing since I have learnt to use a windows based computer. Its almost unbelievable but true that my copy/paste function is not working anymore in my XP OS. And I know dudes that Mylot does not allow copy pasting but its not in Mylot, its everywhere on every single application in my computer and I am pretty sure that it is not a virus. For example if I write a rough version of any matter in notepad and I try to copy/paste it in my mail compose box, the 'paste' option is shown in grey only on the right click menu!!! I can not see the normally visible 'paste' option. I need your help. I do not want to reformat the PC. Is there any easiest solution to rectify this mysterious problem? Cheers and Happy Mylotting...

Do you have running program or application that prevent you to do so,like file anticopy folderlock or anything else.If yes end its process with task manager.

Thanks for your response. I can remember that long days back I installed a demo version of the software called Remote Desktop Manager. It basically lets access the computer from mobile when it is connected through USB. Do you think it might cause this? I had uninstalled the program after the demo period was over.

and after you uninstalled it,is that work again. If not try restoring your pc to an earlier time using system restore in control panel. It will restore your pc to a previous state when your computer work well.

Unfortunately I did not save a restore point earlier. As you told , I also tried through backup/restore, but XP says you have no restore point. Its a challenge using computer without these two basic functions....really and I am facing it.

I used to have this happen with my old computer that had XP, but restarting the computer would always take care of the problem.

Really it is not a problem which resolves with a reboot. At first time when I noticed it I did restart quite a lot of times without any result and the problem is still there.

Try ccleaner, including it's registry clean option, which might remove any fragments relating to the troublesome program. Possibly it's also in the windows services section - can access from control panel - admin tools - services - then see if it exists - if it does then stop and disable it. Maybe also do full scans with avast, mse, malwarebytes, trojan scanner, spybot, etc.
