In this video, http://www.thefoxnation.com/politics/2010/09/05/sharpton-state-senate-seat-black-heir-property he explains why the people had to vote black. Because it was a black Senate seat and so therefore must stay a black seat. Wouldnt this be racist? What if a white speaker said this seat is white and must therefore remain white? Or this seat is Asian.... Incidentally, the seat didnt stay black....

Just like Sharpton's, "I had to rally against Beck's rally so that nothing racist would happen" nonsense. If this guy was just Al Sharpton, or if Jesse Jackson was just Jesse Jackson, not even liberal media would bother to pick them up for comments, much less Fox or any traditional-to-right-leaning medium. But that "reverend" tag carries weight. I can almost understand a little bit about where Al's coming from, in that a minority politician always needing to be in power to represent diversity. I don't agree with it, but I understand it through the mind of Sharpton and those who feel America needs to run ONLY on affirmative action until a 13% segment of the population has a 50% stake in everything. That's not equality and, after decade after decade of trying it that way, it's obviously not how you reach equality either. Not to even mention that it then blatantly discriminates against whites who happen to make up 66% of America. But that's "okay" in social justice land. White people are supposedly all advantaged. This habit of looking a person's skin tone first is absolutely horrific. It really is. The content of a person's character is about the 4th thing examined after race, political standing, and willingness to play a puppet instead of an individualist. I don't care if every seat in Washington is "black," as long as the individual holding each seat is qualified for the job and was voted in fairly. What's wrong with letting qualifications matter over skin tone? Honestly?

I agree dear. Isnt that what MLKs "dream" was about? People being judges by character and not skin color?

It's sad that those who use MLK's name the most represent the antithesis of what he promoted. The guy must be rolling in his grave everytime a moron like Sharpton says crap like that.

No kidding, I love how morons like this can say no thats not what he meant when his words were very clear, I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. pretty clear

If Rev Sharpton were a white minister and supporting and standing up for whites the way he backs the Blacks that person would be crucified by the media.

Al Sharpton is a long-time racist. He was involved in promoting the Tawana Brawley case years ago which proved to be a total fraud. He stirred up a lot of trouble in Harlem along racial lines. I do not know why Fox or anyone else gives him a forum. He is not to be taken seriously

Sharpton is a rascist, and I don't listen to him anymore than I listen to others who spew this kind of nonsense. Hopefully, the people got themselves a decent representative...no matter what the race.

I agree. race does not equal ability or character
