Have you ever concidered adopting? What are the first 5 things that come to mind about adopting a child? Is it the finnancial part? The paperwork? How about child profing your home? Some children have medical problems, emotional, development and other problems. This would take quite a bit of time out of one's day! Would you want to adopt babys only, children or teens? I am considering adoption and would apprieciate any feedback wheather or not you have ever adopted. Adoption stories please!

I've never adopted and I'm thinking about adopting because of the books I've read, the shows that I've watched, and those who I know have adopted a child. Of course I really don't know how it would feel as I haven't experienced it. But from everything that I've heard and learned, the hardest part of adopting is how you would tell your kid that he/she is adopted. There's a celebrity in our country who has adopted a girl and she tells her that she's priming and preparing her that she has a different mommy and all. The celebrity's defense is it's better to start telling the child that he/she is adopted than someone would disclose it to her when she grows up. It will really be hard to explain by then. I've heard stories where their kids understood the situation even if they're already teens. I guess there's really no telling how you would deal with that problem since every kid would have a different reaction. I think you should just be the very best parent you could be to your child and everything will be alright.

I think that there are some people who should not adopt, I have heard of cases where they never tell the children that they are not their real parents. I would never adopt because I don't believe I could have the same relationship with some child that wasn't mine. I do think that people who adopt go into it for all the wrong reasons.
